We played a different gamestyle to the one against the WCE .....didn't play the short hit up kicks

Every Coach changes tactics weekly, and gameplans are changing every 6 weeks

It was obvious, the improvement this year had to be defensively ....best offence, next layer was better defence ....made harder with Doedee and Murray out

Make no mistake, HAW's improvement had nothing to do with gameplan ....Newcomb was **** ....he's now got his game back, and the addition back of the injured Day, has changed the midfield mix ....it was one dimensional early season

Do you watch any games or just splooge random platitudes hoping it won’t be noticed?

The things you say are regularly insane

Was Scotts gameplan bad against GCS, resulting in his biggest loss as a Coach ....or do the players take responsibility for failing to adhere, or an inability to undertake .....injuries / young players often fail to stick to gameplans

Nah, never seen a gameplan compensate for poor players

Players need to take responsibility for their own performance but surely the coaches need to do the same. This isn’t a one off, we have been poor all year and only Curtin debuting and getting subbed off twice. Nicks complete lack of change and making hard decisions is costing the club.

I don’t like bagging Nicks but the buck stops with him, he’s making the changes or not and his career is on the line. If it’s game plan or lack of effort, is it not the coaches responsibility to fix?? Insanity is doing the same thing excepting different results. The jug the local must end and he must be ruthless and much tougher if we are to succeed as a club.

Not sure about you but I’m sick of his press conferences, they are the same every week.
F**k me, unfortunately our DNA is losing, poor skills and same structure, how long can we keep watching the same game over and over again. The board is no better and because they signed him for 2 more years, they need to replace almost all the assistant coaches and work with their stupid decisions

I'm not sure we should be judging a Coach on the lack of theatrics in a Press Conference .....every Club's presser is dead set boring, everyone trying to avoid creating a headline

Watch Goodwin's presser yesterday after MELB got towelled .....I'm sure Melb supporters are thinking the same about their Coach this morning

Is Goodwin now a bad Coach, the gameplan poor .....or is it personnel ?

I'm not excusing SAT's performance, it was shyte ....particularly given what was on the line ....it seems though, all Clubs are having those games .....GEEL, PORT, MELB ect .....only stable performing Club is SYD

I'll repeat, I'm pretty sure, with our age profile ....we can't afford the injury list we have PLUS have players like Rachele, Laird, Smith, and Dawson (inj) not performing

We can shuffle the deck chairs, there's no-one in the SANFL that'll make a significant POD

How many sides are truly successful week in week out with a slow methodical chip and mark game plan?

Maybe the Hawthorn teams 10 years ago, but since then the successful teams play a far more attacking and instinctive style with players who work hard both ways consistently.

We won’t be successful with a slow game plan this has been shown consistently 🤬

So you’re giving any responsibility to our performance on Nicks, is that right?

We were actually older than Hawthorn.

And they thrashed us.

Only changes will be forced changes. We'll probably see McHenry back this week, with Crouch out wouldn't surprise me if they tried to get Sloane to change his mind. Finals are not happening, time to see if any of the kids can play.
Dowling should be in.
Curtin should be in, play him on a wing, move Hinge to a wing, i don't care!!

Richmond have so many injuries, I don't even know who their forwards are... Rumours are Martin will be rested as well for the trip.

Crows can afford to rest their seniors for this game.
Does it matter whether we can 'afford' it or not?
We aren't making finals. Winning this game should absolutely be secondary to development. Winning with senior players only harms our draft picks.
Winning while developing youngsters is fine.

Between Monday and Thursday, Nicks is absolutely convinced it works consistently.
It's only when that pesky opposition show up that it doesn't work.

watching the ressies on Saturday live at the ground all of our recruits for 2024 are not ready to play good afl football. As i stated in another post Magden on the field is doing a wonderful job educating these boys on where to position themselves on the field and how to play their positions and provide encouragement where needed. They simply are not ready to play at the higher level but they are improving, but it has not always been linear.

Strauchnie and Dowling are ready and should come in this week to replace ROB and Crouch. You cannot keep denying these guys an opportunity when the team is playing so inconsistently and poorly interstate. If Tex does not play maybe you play one in the pocket and stretch their defence.

Murray was sensational but two games in 5 days is probably too much for back up purposes.

Pedlar was poor in the first half and looks gassed all of the time after involvement in plays. He does not deserve a recall at this stage but if Dawson cannot play he may get his chance as the well is pretty dry atm.

I havent seen the seniors this week but surely Berry gets his chance with Crouch out.

I would bring in Hammil and demote Smith but thats unfortunately unlikely to happen. we must start weeding out under performing players like him or players whose skills fail under pressure eg Keays who i respect as a fighter but who lets us down at key moments with poor skills.

For all of those supporters wanting Toby Murray played he is another 12 months away at least from being considered as an AFL player.

How Smith keeps on getting selected is utterly beyond me. His performances are awful. He was terrible on the weekend again. He offers zero leadership. He turns the ball over constantly.
Play Hamill the rest of the year. Give him a consistent run at it and see if he can settle into a quality performer.
Hell, play anyone except Smith. He offers nothing now and nothing for the future.

Agreed. It doesn't help with our abysmal foot skills, as on show - esp in the second qtr on Saturday, where we seemingly missed every 20 to 30m pass on the Southern Stand side. It was so bad it was laughable. Smith was bad, but even MM missed Fog by 10 metres (ended up oob) when he had led to a good spot and was well clear of his opponent. It's absolutely demoralising to watch.

Hey guys, I am heading over from Melbourne to watch the game on Thursday night with a mate.
We’re staying until Saturday night when we fly out.
We love a parmi, and would love to savour the best that Adelaide has to offer (probably within proximity of the CBD if possible).
Any other ideas to fill some time would be great too. We’ve got the Adelaide Oval roof climb booked in but apart from that and the game a lot of free time!

Cheers!
Earl of Leicester hotel for a parmi and McLaren Vale for a few red wines :thumbsu:

If you are looking for other good places to eat after you have had your parmi, plenty of good restaurants and bars around the Leigh and Peel street area in the city.

If you have your own transport then plenty of good wineries and breweries around the place. Adelaide Hills, Barossa and Mclaren Vale all within an hour or so from the CBD.

Didn't you just say the other week that you watch the pressers and they're interesting?
