Bulldogs are mid table on the injury list as of yesterday. Hawks have lost a lot of games missed but still keep keeping on. Interesting that Adelaide and Geelong have both been pretty lucky.

Just under this table is this:

"But when you drill further there is little doubt they are even worse off than their September counterparts.

The Dogs’ loss of 116 games and 233 points does not factor in Stewart Crameri’s drugs suspension.

Nor does it detail the dense positional nature of their crammed medical room. If you’re a defender at the Dogs, chances are you’ve bled this season."

So even the article acknowledges the injury ladder might not be representative of the true impact of the injuries on performance.

I think what has really hurt the Dog's are the losses in the defence. Suckling, Boyd and Morris in one week significantly changes the make up of the defence, and it was clear that was a weakness tonight. The ease in which Geelong marked the ball in the forward 50 was not good enough.

Edit: And composure going forward killed us to

The difference between a good team and a bad team tonight. Geelong showing that they have what it takes to get the necessary wins while the Bulldogs show why they'll be making up the numbers in September.

Haha wasn't a north fan to be seen for the first half of the game and bam they all come out.

Looking forward to next week. You lost round 1 because of injuries and no doubt your setting up for the same loser excuse.

Loved the contested work by the dogs. They just looked like they would win every contest. Didn't get value for their hard work inside 50. I thought Hunter was very damaging early and we needed to tighten up on him. Libba going off was obviously a big turning point. It let Danger off the leash and he took full advantage.

Glad to see Rhys nail his opportunities. And Jimmy's goal to finish the match was fantastic. Glad to get through this one. Next few weeks will show if we've learnt anything this year about staying switched on and winning the ones we should.

You been using it for 8 weeks so that irony for you lol.

We win we lose both teams arnt good enough just making up the numbers.

I'm looking forward to next year you on the other hand can probably not so much.

Bet you won't "get home" if you are losing next week. Prob have to work late lol

Hard to pick between being 2 down on the bench again adding to the list or poor delivery inside 50 or inaccuracy having the biggest impact.

We kicked 3.10 in the second half. Kick 7.3 and win. The chances were there despite poor defensem
