Great to see the Hawks try their guts out and Sammy throwing everything at a win today.
I thought you posted last night that we were tanking?

Hawthorn were poor today but it's naive to assume their rebuild isn't working because their last two weeks have been poor.

They are not the first, nor last young/rebuilding team that will get flogged.

They are much better than what they served up today, I suspect their kids have hit the wall (an NBA expression where young players/rookies get gassed at more then the half way point of a long and gruelling season)

Mitchell is an open and honest coach who doesn't BS The supporters. They are still a couple of years away, but they will get there.

Weddle and Seamus Mitchell are two very exciting young talents The Hawks have introduced this season.

Carlton had a lot more experienced players with bigger bodies today.

Yep definitely one of the more disgusting performances last week against GC, a clear effort to lose. AFL integrity in question.

This week we saw a massive shift in mindset. There is no doubt the instruction was to win and the players were on. Unfortunately came up against a well drilled no nonsense side in Cartlon, but great to see some positive signs out of the boys from Dingley.

The hawks were never tanking.
It’s just the week in week out reality of a very poor team in rebuild.
They’ll take their single first rounder to the draft this year just like every other team.
The challenge is nailing the pick.
The fact that DGB is rated behind Frost must be very worrying for Mitchell and his team …

You reckon those Carlton throws will be allowed against other teams? You are very drilled team when they focus on throwing the pill.

Look at the effort the Eagles are putting on today from the get go Tell me how they haven't tanked for most of the season to get Harley Reid.

Better explain that to your AFLW team.
In any case, it’s in better shape than Dingley atm and it’s all that there is …
Dingley really occupies your mind a lot, doesn’t it.

I’m interested in rebuilding clubs and it was actually your trumpeting of Dingley as a selling point to prospective recruits that brought it to attention.
The project has been on the drawing board for some time and i agree that it should be central to the hawks rebuild.
However, there appears very little progress to report other than mooted downgrades to the project.
The hawks have a lot on their plate atm and these types of rebuilds are hard going at the best of times.
I’m sure some/any progress at Dingley would be a timely tonic for all concerned at the hawks at this time …

Yeah, I’ll lie awake sleepless at night until I get an update on Dingley.

66k today for 2 teams struggling. So much for a drop off

Hawks looking likely to take pick 3 to the draft this year.
Who, or what type of player are they looking for at this pick ?
With Koschitzke and DGB rated behind Fergus Greene, Frost and Blanck, the spine looks in desperate need of some quality.
Bruest and Wingard will need to be replaced and Brockman still hasn’t re-signed.
McCabe will be added as a F/S but still needs to be paid for in picks.
How the hawks use pick 3 will be crucial …

So genuine.

At least this post isn’t about Dingley though, I guess.

Dingley would be central to the hawks rebuild no doubt.
But with the club in the middle of a racism investigation and the recent departure of the CEO, it’s probably understandable if progress on the project has stalled somewhat …
Yes, the CEO was the only one with a bobcat license.

Now we iz doomed.
