Brad continues to change his narrative

Its gone from wanting to stay as he loves the club, is settled in Adelaide and doesn't want to move to a big city

Then it was he needs a change and fresh start and wants AFC to be properly compensated

Now its I would have walked into PSD

All this in a matter of 2-3 weeks

Life his foot skills Brad is not that sharp

Went with the astute take as usual I see.

I am happy to have Brad gone, glad we didn't match and retain him as he is obviously not of the character we want, and am looking forward to having Hately in. A tall mid with a good engine. He has been in the system two years already and was already playing against men beforehand so should be ready to go. Instead of a Brad Crouch who is starting to get up in years and whose body is prone to injury we have a young man of seemingly good character as he was prefect at his College, whose family resides in SA, who wants to be at the Crows, who was s first round draft pick and who should serve the club well for the next 10 years.

Prioritising good characters has certainly paid off these last 2 decades. What a load of shit.

Think Pick 40 could get the deal done for Hately. Pick 40 will currently slide into about 33/34 due to picks getting used up to match bids. The order the NGA/FS players get bid on should heavily shape the 2nd round onward of the draft.
I sense that a deal is progressing quietly in the background as GWS push hard in trade diacussions with Caldwell

GWS knowing that they have zero negotiation positiin with AFC will accept a lesser deal or Hately could walk to PSD however they would not want to annouce the Hately trade until Caldwell is done

Regardless I still cant see GWS getting a top 10 pick for Caldwell

Pick 33 is probably the "right" price, but I don't think we should be giving it up unless Essendon give up an early second rounder (sub 25 this year) for Caldwell.

Looking soft on two deals out of two (even though both were probably the right call) isn't much fun.

But I don't care which of those picks we give GWS if we can end up with 14 and 23 (22 after JUH matching).

Liked.

I reckon Brad must have let one of his greyhounds sh*t on the Low Ranger's carefully manicured lawn.
He types like he’s still got shit on his fingers from picking it up.

Totally clueless posts are the norm, regardless of topic. To me, at the footy club, Brad's a footballer. He wouldn't give any more respect to admin than is warranted. And that would grate on our thin skinned group. It takes only the meaningless coke bust for these weak turds to strike. I predicted this as soon as it happened and it's no surprise that the club is low enough to slander him to back up not matching a 4 year $700k contract.

I suppose the temerity to request a contract equivalent to Sloane's while 2 years younger would have miffed a few too. We have a very public service culture. AO5s just do not challenge EL staff.

What a load of absolute garbage

This is the problem.

Too many here believe Brad is worth the kind of contract Sloane is on.

We got burnt there too.

Brad went to the market, the market said no, you are worth less.

Sloane probably went to the market, and only we said he is worth what we gave him.

Overpaying unproductive staff, ironically a big problem in the PS as well.

If Brad went to any club and asked to be on a 5yr deal @ 800K he'd have been laughed at, and it sounds like his manager tried.

I'm confident enough Sloane can recover to somewhere near his best, but it'll take some structure changes.

How can you be confident Sloane will return to his best? It's been over 2 seasons since we saw that now.

Provided he's fit enough then I'm confident. If he's got any chronic issues then I'd re-evaluate.

Even in the last 2 years he's played some quality footy. Just not enough.

He's up against it.

Sloane's game is based on hustle and intensity and throwing his body at everything.

He's 30 (31?) and the ability to play that way has diminished. He's physically not the same and you wouldn't expect him to be.

He needs to reinvent his game to be a smarter player in a different position that doesn't rely on out hustling and battering into younger bigger midfielders.

I'm hoping half back back otherwise I think it could be a quick demise.
