Waking up this morning I wasn't sure if it was a bad dream.
Then I had to go to work.

gee whiz, you know you're in a rough trot when you get burnt by the Norf social media intern...
Agree> He is out of form and is sometimes a liability in the backline due to lack of mobility. I've though that as he has been out of form for over a year now, maybe he could be the change ruckman instead of Oscar...he always fancied himself as one and reads the play well enough to add something more along with his marking and kicking, which admittedly are off at the moment but may improve given as different roleJust one. Gov.
Put down the hammer and drop him. Running around getting a milliion $ and thinks that and his rep is enough.
You want to make a big statement. There it is.
Surely Saints hold onto Dunstan with his recent form. Tell ya what have enjoyed him as a draft pick up in fantasy football.
Did not realise at all he was already 26, time flies...
I think Dunstan would offer a fair bit to our team, I have always thought he was a pretty decent player.i think we may have burnt that bridge. the other problem we have with dunstan is that we have a number of guys now out of the side that play a more ttacking role.
Gresham will be back next year
Bytel is starting to build very solid form in the VFL
Clark is out and will be back soon
Coffield is out and will be back soon
plus Byrnes we want to keep in the side
then we are going to hit the draft and the assumption is it will be midfielders
For all the comments on NN not going with Goldy, how often do you see Nic on the defensive goal line to mark/spoil? It's not his role. He stays outside of that area so if we turn it over or they score a point we have a marking/bring the ball to ground target up the field.
I feel like it's been this way for some time now. The earlier post highlighted our good representation in the area, they were just poorly positioned and didn't communicate.
Every other ruckman we have gets slaughtered. Our potency at stoppages is chalk and cheese between when Nic Nat is there and when he is not. His effort cannot be questioned, a number of his clearance kicks went to the opposition but where were the forwards reading the quick kicks and contesting? That’s garbage.. I could accept that if he did actually do that but he doesn’t, he rarely marks and he often isn’t even good enough to get to the contest.
His last quarter was actually all over the place… two goals up and he hits the next centre bounce to the defensive side and north sweep it forward.. because he cant go more than 5 mins he then is taken off where theres a ball up on our half back line which results in allen getting pantsed and a goal within 5 seconds of him going off. Then their next goal comes from a thro in in the back pocket while he is still on the bench a couple of mins later ..
he went at 30% yes he won clearances but if there is no connection forward what was the point.. .. we wont win a thing with him in the side. We loose just as much by playing him than we win from the things he does well.

Poor guy froze up kicking in to the centre square. Knew he would get a bake for it at the break. Seriously though, after being faux tuff man, he has to make that kick. Can not recall us using the corridor all night. To the wings!-Somebody;anybody; teach Rotham how to kick a short pass. Its like hes chicken sh*t scared of stuffing up.
Pavlich's comment after another of our inexplicable chip kicks sideways got intercepted.
"Its dare I say it predictable that westcoast is kick wide when they get it in the corridor, North Melbourne are just setting up for it"
Can't stand the prick but he is right. Everyone can see it and yet we still do it.
Would like to pick him up tbh.come in peace, i don't think the loss is as bad as some will make out. there's still key pillars of a great side here, you just need more help around them.
i think the big one you are missing is an inside bull. kelly is great but he's not a bull and never will be. shuey has dash. gaff is great as an endurance running mid. redden probably was this guy but he's out and Yeo is great in there but is used where the problems are. he can't be everywhere at once. i'd make him captain TBH!
so here's why i am posting. i think Luke Dunstan's emergence could be a cheapish replacement for redden and give you a servicable soldier on the inside who can also do a shut down role. means you can be less reliant on Yeo, free him up a little, playing a more attacking role at the stoppage, whilst luke nullify's the oppos best inside mid.
he's a UFA so it means you don't blow a pick on him. allowing you to hit the draft to start to rebuild some of the midfield and flanks. he'll also come pretty cheap salary wise so he wouldn't break the bank.
We need a player who can get the ball in the packs and distribute it. Sheed is not that player, Kelly is not that player, Redden is not that player, Shuey is not that player, Gaff is not that player. Yeo is a bull but is just regaining fitness and form. Need a player ready to go, not a 19 year old, and the fact he is free trade-wise is attractive.Would like to pick him up tbh.
All of you that supported Return the Wings have a lot to answer for...Poor guy froze up kicking in to the centre square. Knew he would get a bake for it at the break. Seriously though, after being faux tuff man, he has to make that kick. Can not recall us using the corridor all night. To the wings!

Don't know why Darling should be dropped. He works his arse off and has been our best forward until the last few weeks and even then has been OK but not as dominant. He does look a lot slower and maybe just needs to back off a bit with the training load. It's the same as people having a go at Redden. People just don't seem to see the workrate and value of Darling and also Redden because they are not always flashy but they bring other players into the game.Darling, Cripps and Gov. All three must be dropped. All three have done SFA recently and dropping them makes a statement to everyone.
Season has been shot since the bye, when we welcomed our “saviours” back from injury. Play the kids, they were doing better than the saviours anyway!
