The list of players that would supposedly warrant such a pick being offered is surely receding by the week right now.

Yes but it happens to all teams.
I remember a game maybe 2 years ago we played Collingwood in Perth. De Goey’s first game back for a while and we got absolutely slaughtered by the umpires.
It happens to all teams but if it happens to them there’s a huge outcry.

Yeah, that's a fair call.

I remember that game in Perth. The free kick count was 10-22... then Razor Ray came out the next day, said he'd seen the game, and it really should've been 25-9 or something like that!

Yeah we learn so much when umpires tell us how they performed afterwards. Like they're ever going to be honest.

Just on that, can you ever remember so many obvious decisions getting let go as this year? It's fine to let things go, but the amount of absolutely obvious holding the ball decisions that are allowed to pass now is amazing. With an extra umpire too.

Ha, that's true. All we can hope for is the right lessons are being learnt internally.

Like everyone, it's all subjective, but the games I've watched seem to have swung from the most officious, technical decisions called one moment to "naaah, that's fine" a minute later. Maybe it's too early to tell, but I'm not seeing any improvement having an extra ump on the field so far this year.

Far out, that's one lengthy injury list.

Can't remember if it was last week or after they played us, when they named their team on the Thursday night there was one youngster out listed as "omitted" - the question was asked, how bad do you have to have been performing to be out omitted with the size of their injury list & 2 or 3 teammates out as injured alongside him

Only problem with that is, don't you at some stage had to have been with it enough to then lose the plot...
He's actually a very smart man but the latest idea is just absurd.
