Jackson Nelson looked good to me watching the game so I'm really surprised by his stat line.

Surprised Redden only had 8 contested touches, he really goes in hard then just runs away. Had super clean hands and some pretty neat kicks, he really used it well and bowled people over when they were in his way. 13 score involvements might have made him stand out so much to me.

Pressure from Shuey, Yeo and Hickey around the contest was huge. They won clearances with sheer determination from losing positions, fighting for it and keeping their feet, getting their arms around people to drag the ball back to their advantage.

Pressure from Petruccelle, Cripps and Cameron was first class. The intercept defenders would have been licking their lips after seeing the way the small forwards rushed the kickers and forced the ball high, or tackled hard. They also did well to get to the feet of Darling and JK who contested hard. JK was marking well, Darling knows when to just get a fist on it when he can't mark it.

Given the pressure up the field, Shep and Gov just cleaned up. Shep is having his best year, he is incredible. So confident in his body right now and he started hitting some pretty difficult kicks going forward and backing himself in to get it in the right spots. All Australian lock if the selectors have any clue.

Darling kinda still has an impact on games without kicking goals IMO. It's the age-old "he takes a defender away from Kennedy" discussion. It's usually one of the two having a good night depending on who the opposition deem more of a threat on the week.
Even though his disposal was shotty last night I thought his will to impact marking contests when he clearly couldn't win was super impressive. It was something he did in that string of 10 games last year and makes us so much more elite

more than 24 hr on im still annoyed at JK's efforts on goal. I don't think i've seen him easily beast an eite KPD like that in a long time. It wasn't just working him over on a lead but with body work and genuine strength.
He kicks 6 and Hurley would have been heavily dissected in the Eastern sea board.

After Petrucelle's goal in the third quarter, the commentary mentioned that 22 of the past 25 scoring shots had been West Coast.

I know that we'll rue leaving the percentage on the table, but **** me if that isn't an impressive stat to vouch for an elite performance.

Why wasn't it 23 out of 25?

Good Post : :thumbsu:

HB35 its quite funny because the previous three months , most on these boards ( me included ) have been shitty and annoyed with the lack of sustained effort and the way the team has not put in, yet been happy that we have got the four points.

Conversely this week , folk are happy that the effort was sustained, the intent high and the application good.

Yet they aren't happy with the end result a win ( feel a bit deflated and let down ) as the margin should have been greater .

WFMD.......some are never pleased.....was it am impressive win ? Hell Yeah.
Could it have been bigger winning margin ? Of course , it could have been.
But that does not detract from the quality of the win.

Its all relative .

It reminds me of a bygone era when some of my mates growing up used to ( shamelessly ;) ) talk of some of their girlfriends as being a bad lover ( polite terminology ).

Whereas I preferred to look at it this way : Rather than complain about having a girlfriend who was a bad lover ............ I accepted that they were all good, but some were better than others.

Point being : Don't be too precious :lipstick: be thank full for what you get.......... they are all good.

Big positive - Jarrod Cameron. Two goals on debut is nice, but the seven tackles (second only to Yeo for most afield), from a 19 year old listed under 70kg is immense.

I'll put my hand up and say I thought he went missing too much in the WAFL to impact an AFL game. I was dead wrong. Great debut.

Watching the replay (despite the commentary) and I think Shuey must be the most hard done by player regarding HTB. He always gets called because he genuinely tries to break free from tackles out of stoppages, he never has prior opportunity because he's being tackled before he even has hands on the ball but he's so strong he goes a fair way with it and gets pinged. Pretty farcical that they're rewarding those who go to ground and fake an effort with a ball up but are pinging Shuey for genuinely trying without any prior opportunity.

If it was Dangerfield it would be called play on/came out in the tackle.

Also I imagine Yeo would be up there this season for tackles resulting in HTB. Incredible athlete, if I was anywhere near him with the ball in my hand I'd be taking three steps at the most before disposing because he's always hitting the contest at pace and is always around the ball.

He is an exceptional talent. I am a big fan of his brother Charlie and Jarrod seems to be from the same mould.

Instinctive, natural ability around goal, quick turn of pace, good above head and tackles well beyond expectations for his size.

I feel he will play to the level that he is in.

Seemed from the game that Ryan appeared to be going over and encouraging him throughout - maybe he's taken it upon himself to play a mentor role to Cameron much as Jetta has to him in another sign of increasing maturity perhaps?

When Cameron scored his first goal, it was the first time this season that it felt like the positivity about the team that came from adding Ryan and Rioli last season had returned.

That was my favourite moment of the game.

We had senior players botching every shot at goal. Then the 19 year old kid who could easily have been overawed in his first game takes a mark 50 out, sees no one on the mark, **** it, goes for a run and never looked like missing the goal.

Good win.
Totally dominant.

Happy to have 36 shots every week because majority of times we'll kick min. 18.18 or better ratio.

Gov will take the week.

Be nice to get off to a good start every now and then though.

Camerons tackles were as good a sign as his goals.

Petch and JK couldve kicked bags but were in good spots.

Good signs.

Inaccurate.
Come off a bye and it was a night game.

Clutchings.
Gun. We need this guy more than half our best 22.

Hawks next.
Get it done campaigners.

Barrass back.
Jetstar are currently on sale. You campaigners knows what happens next.

The evolution of Jk's game style is quite remarkable. Went from a lead up sort up forward from being a very physically KPF that can take some bing contested clunk. He just physically bullied Hurley with ease today and should have really gone on to have a 5-8 goal game.
JK is God
