On the way home. Still had a good night. Cannot question our effort and intent every week. The wheel will turn in time. Our ladder position is not reflective of our true worth. Said to the Dees supporters around me they ain't a flag contender, not when they were struggling at 1/2 time against half our VFL team. 😉
Our actual VFL team would have beat them tonight.

Dees are frauds

Despite the result plenty of positives to take out of tonight.

Dow 22 disposals 77% efficiency 10 contested 8 tackles 2 clearances. Played a really good game with plenty of good play in tight where he didn't seem rushed and was able to find targets. Couldn't quite nail the goal when he got a chance bit should take some real confidence out of tonight.

Ralphsmith 21 disposals 71% efficiency 11 contested 6 marks 4 clearances 7 turnovers. For someone who has been a whipping boy he played a reasonable game. Showed an improvement in his willingness to take contact, with a few efforts where he went back with the flight to make a contest. Sure there were some turnovers but he had more positive impact than negative on the night. Should get another shot on the wing next week and can hopefully build on tonight.

Maurice 14 disposals 64% efficiency 7 marks 4 tackles 5 score involvements 2.2. Gave us a spark early on with some flashy play up in the middle of the ground as well as some run down tackles. Drifted out of the game in the 2nd half but is another who can take confidence out of tonight and hopefully build on it moving forward.

Banks 12 disposals 75% efficiency 4 marks 3 tackles. Played the defensive winger role and worked hard up and down the ground. 70% of his disposals were in the defensive half of the ground. After an ok first half he faded put of the game with just 2 disposals and 3 tackles after half time. As is the case with younger players they are prone to this happening. But again he can take some confidence out of tonight and hopefully build on that against Fremantle.

Brown 16 disposals 69% efficiency 5 marks. Was ok early on, but in the 2nd half when the Dees got on top it was a bit of a struggle. Hopefully he keeps his spot next week and continues to develop his game.

Lefau 9 disposals 89% efficiency 4l3 marks 2 tackles 1 goal. A great learning experience for him tonight dealing with May Lever & McDonald which will help him understand just how hard he needs to work to make it. Will keep his spot nondoubt and hopefully gets Balta back as support soon, maybe even Koschitzke as well.

Negatives
Hopper came back and looked like the midfielder we paid for. Was having a big game before yet another injury struck, this time his hamstring. Must be incredibly frustrating for him, knowing that he is on big money with lots of expectations but he just can't get a clear run at it.

Naismith was picked to provide ruck support as well as an option up forward and didn't really impact in either role. Said it before but Naismith should only play when Nankervis can't as he needs to be in the ruck to have a real impact on the game.

Really proud of the Tigers effort tonight. Thankful it wasn’t a complete blow out. Lefau is promising. Keep playing for the whole year please. Dow getting better. Mansell is such a competitor also. Hugo’s best game despite some sloppy kicks. MRJ also showed improvement. Tyler Young needs to add some muscle. I know Hopper is a good player but another injury is a real negative for the night

I can cop loosing fair and square, but when it involves umpires gifting the oppo all game it just makes me want to distance myself from afl

many tigers in same boat

Out: KMac Hopper Nai-moreSmith, Banks
In: Ryan, Kosi, Cumberland, Short(if available, Banks as sub if not)

Yeah i lived through the whole Carlton thing at the time it happened as my father was a massive Carlton fan & I had a membership to both Tiges and Carlton, as i still would go to the footy with him,.

Carlton 95 - 2007 would be an incredible doco piece. It really had it all. Seeing that team go from one of the most impressive Flag winners of the decade, they won every game except 2, both to the bottom 2 teams in consecutive weeks.

The won every game by 4-goals or more, except for 3 under 10. The won the Prelim & the GF by 10 goals. They were a beast of a team. A "classic" great team IMO.

Its the latter years though where it gets interesting. When Elliott challenged the AFL over Optus Oval, refused to back down. One of the biggest "what ifs" of the entire competition for me is ... what if that tip-rat O'Reily didn't dog out the extra payment situation and the AFL & Carlton went to court over the Princess Park issue? The cap breach blew it all up - but if it went to court, which it surely would have - how would have that changed the power structure of the AFL?

havent been since the 2019 granny

wont go again until they stop the corrupt reaming

Thought Pickett was doing a solid job on Petracca

First time since 2017 GF we put a tag on someone

I’ve liked how Yze will try different things. Liked how he matched up Hugo against one of the best runners in the game Langdon, the Pickett move was good, also like how he tried to overpower Gawn with 2 rucks today.

Our kicking is getting better, we are finding pockets of space between the zones a lot easier week by week so that’s another positive. Brown is going to be a serious player for us

We should grab schache instead
Mate, you've got a long memory. Are you going to continue holding that over my head whenever you feel the need to cut me down a peg or two?

I made a bad call, we've all done it.

Well, was expecting 10 goal loss so 7 is a bonus!
Keep playing the kids. Get sonsie, kmac2 & ryan in, the losses would stretch to10 goals now but it will pay dividends fr years to come. Dusty, nank, vlas, broad, dan, pickett are there for experience.

I didn't go to the 2022 EF in Brisbane purely because of the umpires. My attitude was , if they have been reaming us all year like they have, i don't want to be in that stadium when they ream us however they may choose to. And boy, was i right. The smoking gun is that game. I haven't been to a game since either. Doubt i will. The game doesn't deserve my presence
