Probably saying the same thing from different angles.

We let poor teams find a way to sweat us. Even last week was a poor 9 goal win....if such a thing exists.
Id like to exorcise that demon so we can take a step towards being a consistently good side...
Not really looking for smashings. But controlling games and being on top of opposition appears so far off right now.

Last week we fluffed around a genuinely shit side for a three quarters and then put them away without the result ever feeling like it was in doubt. This week was different and North would have gotten a win against more than a few teams this week had they been playing them. They were in it for 3 quarters against Collingwood and they only lost to Sydney due to a braindead bench error. We shouldn't have gone in expecting the side they were in April because they aren't.

That Norf midfield is looking so damn good.

Wardlaw is a weapon, 17 touches but felt like 40.

Hope we go after him when he’s out of contract.

Until then, McKay will be handy. Had a hell of a game

I know he was getting caught a bit which will happen less as he matures but Wardlaw was very creative and evasive that was not a run of the mill 17 possessions.

A few guys got knocked into kingdom come that was a hard match. Martin starts to lift when the game is on the line. Felt shaky down back in the air with their tall timber.

Thought Hobbs was quite good and Ridleys intercept marking was fantastic. Martin is just silk and unfortunately i think Zach will go close to being the second bomber to be robbed of a Brownlow due to a dubious suspension.

In the context of the season, it's a good win. We've travelled for 3 of our last 4 games including travelling to WA last week. Next week will be interesting, but I think the Bye will be good for us.

The kick by Perkins in the last 30 seconds where he kicked to empty space on the wing killed the game, very smart if intended.

Even if it had gone out as deliberate the clock was on our side.

Honestly, Nth have some talent, but without Wright, Parish, Sedds, we aren’t going anywhere. Need a decent pack marking forward.

We needed to get a clue and stop bombing it in instead of looking for the shorter leading option. We played as though Wright was already back.

North have been playing very well and this was always going to be tough without Parish, Setterfield and a clearly hampered Shiel in the midfield.

Unsurprisingly Shiels clamped down on Merrett and we got whacked in the middle. So a good effort to hang on.

Weid was very poor today but I still think he will improve when 2MP comes back and he no longer takes the best defender.

Keen to see how we go in the second half of the season with those players coming back in and hopefully getting Tsatas, Cox and Reid into the team.

We need to beef up the midfield and small forward stocks at the draft

Baldwin was excellent down back today. Would love to find a way to slide him in

Reckon cox is still a couple away....which is a shame. His height would be handy in a system against McKay.

Tsatas looks sublime. Probably the thing we missed today - lots of drive through the middle.

He is just a good luck charm never over awed. Never forget when he took the ball out of Jakes hands earlier in the year and slotted that goal. Older players remember stuff like that.
What I seen today was Jake was trying hard but it was a day where everything was turning into bronze instead of the usual gold. Archie puts he’s hand up gets the team going and within 2 minutes Jake slots one through. It was a real passing of the torch moment for me.
