When you play your midfielders in the midfield things can happen. Funny that. Maybe less manufactured mids in there and more guys that have played midfield all their life works out better. Just maybe.

The efforts of everyone bar the two ruckmen was at the standard the must be maintained for us to go forward. We've done this before so its another case of what are we going to dish up next week.

We celebrate the efforts and hopefully we get a few guys coming back next week. Only midfielders please.

Yeah. I gotta say that was rather perplexing. Clarke, Ambrose def out for next week. Not sure where Francis is either with his footy. Was ugly footy for the most part between last and second last.

Finally a win.

Stats also reflecting our run last year - winning contested and uncontested possessions, marks and 16 marks inside 50.
Effort was there.

Encouraging knowing joe, hooker and others im no doubt forgetting to come back.

That was one of the most satisfying games of the last three years. They turned up and found themselves.

That centre clearance when Heppell and Shiel ran the ball out together. I don't recall a centre clearance from us like that for a very long time.

Melbourne's last three or so goals had me tearing my hair out though.

Wow that was like going back to the 80s in terms of frenetic scoring. The 6-6-6 looks like it’s working, at least until the good coaches work out how to close it down. Really liked the way our mids got the ball straight onto the boot when they got first hands on it at the centre bounces rather than trying to get cute. At least until late when they went back to old habits. Thought Darcy Parish had his best game in the red and black. Great to see both Smack and Tippa regain some form and confidence. Wasn’t a huge fan of the Stringer trade but gee he was immense tonight. Loved that both Zach and McGrath did some great things in close in the last quarter particularly.

I would honestly rather Draper. Legit.

Agree with that, but Clarke provided about as much as Brown was providing plus the bonus of being a backup ruck. I Feel the rage against him has been a little excessive (not just from you and not being personal hers; yours just happened to be the post I quoted initially.)

Great win by our boys, our pressure was immense and it was great to see our attacking flair back
