AFL Toast RND 6: Win Against The Crows

Forward entries were atrocious which made all our misses hurt even more. The effort and pressure is there but the lapses in concentration and complete lack of skill level will see us in the middle tier of the competition
big time, dumping kicks into nowhere or to the advantage of everyone but the essendon target, better teams have and will tear us apart because of this

Love this - photo doesn’t do it justice… on the screen McKay smile bigger than coaches’
IMG_8991.jpeg
This is why McKay joined Essendon.
  • experiencing wins (North been a struggle)
  • connection with coach
  • Next week Anzac Day game

Not a destination club like Sydney or Cats… but surely this is why we can attract some more talent.

Pleasing to see the younger guys step up with se of our more experienced players having sour nights.

Laverde, Langford and Parish were all below their best for most of the night.
Bit Caldwell and Durham were wonderful in the midfield, Davey and Hobbs' physicality and pressure were needed, and Jones kept our forwardline structure together while Langford and Stringer had dirty periods (both had their moments).

Draper for Wright seems the obvious move next week. If Draper isnt rucking most of the game I would rather Wright pinch hitting in the ruck with Jones holding us together up forward.
I think this is the most accurate change

the crows this that was a umpire robbery?

are they ****in blind lol

the fact they were even within 40 points of us was shear dumb essington

Essendon were +20 inside 50s and we kicked 10:18 rofl

LOL let’s look at the last incident, not all the goals gifted to crows, those HTB goals the crows got need a please explain from the umpiring department
what about Tex throwing the ball in the goal square which started Adelaide's run of goals? Let's talk about that.

Well that simply has turned the night around hasn't it. Was super worried that we just would roll over and die like we have in the past.

Positives:
Caldwell, Merrett, Durham, Gresham

Need a rocket:
Plenty

To the magoos:
Drapes and Davey

Can't wait for Thursday.
agree for drapes, disagree for davey. he didn't do too much i'll concede but he did well with the pressure acts and had some genuine physical moments (including right at the end) which were really important

As I understand it, the knock on Bryan is his lack of round the ground marking
Hard to see how he has less impact there than Drapes. Or t the ruck contests. Given poor Goldy appeared to be feeling every one of his 35 years , why doesn't Bryan get a go?

I think Setterfield is a very important midfielder for us. We could do with some leg speed.

I think Setterfield is overkill. Lacks the mobility of the others, was absolutely ineffective vs Port. If he doesn't catch you at the ball they are out. I don't think he should play midfield minutes ahead of Durham or Caldwell, which is a struggle because he can't play elsewhere. Should be depth going forward now Durham and Caldwell have stepped up. Perkins also needs minutes.

Stiff on davey. His pressure was good again, who plays the pressure fwd role if not davey?

A long way off afl in a few areas but pressure was great. Few holding the balls and pressure on hinge mean more than stats sometimes.

Thats probably a reason why he stays
