We need kamdyn to play on the wide open wings of Optus Stadium
To show he can dominate the wings and is the perfect free agent replacement got Andrew Gaff

He would look fantastic in the eagles jumper , Let him prove to Matty Clarke he belongs at the eagles
cannot rob him of this opportunity.

Eagles have been waiting for this week.

Big RED circle around this fixture for them.

Theyll; come hard AF next week and will want to beat us.

Lose next week we stick the cue in the rack and get our key players healthy and get games into the kids and hit the draft with a good strong hand.

We aint north they can pencil in anything they want. We should roll them but like i said we have to be on and not to take them lightly.
Baker back in will also help.

Yze said that Kosi will hold his spot. Geez I saw nothing in his game that screamed out he should be playing seniors.
Cumberland in and Lefau out. Time to up our scoring power and make our forward line more dangerous. A bit more unpredictability.

Id also have Ryan or Naismith in and Kosi out. But the Ooze says Kosi will hold his place.

Kosi got photos of yze

Still furious we let that one slip.

You can just tell McAuliffe will be a good long term mid.
Rate him heaps more than dow on every level even from 15 mins.

Tom brown will also be a gem.

Kosi is useless and surprisingly short has been very average this year. Today I had him as one of the worst on grounds for us. Every single time he got it, it was a loose kick in the air or around the bend always to the opposition. For someone of his experience, I expect him to hit targets, not get random possessions.

So the solution is to replace with smaller bodied, less experienced players? It would actually make our performances and reaults worse.

No offence, but how can anyone play worse than Macca in the first 5 weeks of this season? Zero goals. Zero goal assists. 10 x score involvements and 6 x tackles. Almost leads the league in turnovers per disposal and clangers per disposal. Errors constantly cost us goals.

It’s not actually possible to play worse than McIntosh has so far in 2024.

Yze said in his presser that Kozi will hold his spot.

Didn't like him putting on the kids rather than Short, Graham, Macca for the lapses but loved how he backed in Kosi, Lefau and Sonsie that they are young players still trying to find their synergy.

Baker has to come in for Graham who showed that he needs to find some form in the VFL

Mate, we conceded 3 goals and then got the game back into an arm wrestle. If you think that's "pathetic" then you've got a lot to learn.
3 goals 5 ... and then another couple after Shai's goal ... would have been down 5 goals at 3 quarter time id the Saints hadn't missed so many sodas

the thing with mac is that he wins the ball and is good 1 v1, but i agree with you, thats why im hard on TT. ball use is so important in the modern game.

I agree but I don't see them dropping Graham. Considering we are playing in WA next week, I wouldn't be surprised if Pickett/McIntosh dont make the trip to rest them. But considering they are both from WA, they may want to see their families so I dunno.

If Pickett doesn't make the trip it wouldn't be to rest him, right?

Even if we did lose by 30+, who cares? Did you see the team we had out there today? Did you honestly expect to win? The foundation of our game is pressure and it was there in spades all day. If this was 2019 I would be angry. But it's 2024. It's not our time yet.

Spot on. We kept a likely finals team to 11-points in a half of footy. Ross Lyon is a very good coach .. the Saints were always going to come back given our injury list. How anyone can not walk away from that game thrilled with the progress under Yze given we have one hand tied behind our backs right now is being genuinely daft.

Noticed with Dow he's getting some confidence up in traffic. Looks a lot more composed than a few weeks ago. Just needs to find it more than 11 times in 2 hours.

Devil is in the detail. He played only 60 of 119 minutes, so 11 was probably the equivalent of a 17-18 possession game. He wasn’t great today but he will only get better as he grows in confidence.

If you think Ross had zero impact

The following must have had triple digit negative impact

Graham
Kmac
Kosi

Let’s avoid ‘whipping boy’ stuff. Given it was his first game of the year, Graham was certainly not in our worst half dozen players today. I’m not a huge fan and think we should trade him, but he only played 77 of 119 minutes (65%) and had 7 tackles, 4 clearances, 18 touches and just 3 turnovers. He was solid today and won’t be discussed at selection this week.

Problem is that Lefau is 25… he doesn’t have the time or natural growth from a maturing body that Cadman has. Imho best case for Lefau is handy depth to occasionally cover injury

No way will Lefau be the player Cadman will be, of course not. But people need to temper expectations. Cadman played 12 games in his debut season in a top-4 team. He averaged 4.5 disposals, 1.6 marks and 0.5 goals per game. Yes, those stats are correct.

In Lefau’s 3 games he’s averaged 5.0 / 1.7 / 1.0.

So people need to lay off the bloke and let him develop . He’s going to get better and is doing his bit.

I don’t believe he’ll ever be a star by any stretch. But if he can become our ‘Mihocek’ type forward then we’ve found a beauty … it’s not beyond the realms given his athletic traits are awesome.
