We were so close to going into the bye with an important win, but in the end umpires going in dry, poor skills, ran out of gas and Eagles fluke kicking was too much. eagles also got the better of some key matchups, Naitanui schooled Chol, Kennedy killed Balta and showed Jack how you kick for goal properly. Ryan had virtually no influence though…

Also just some dumb decision making throughout the game.
Some umpiring decisions in last quarter seriously corrupt… Allen lines up directly in front of goal gifted perfect tackle

The Eagles straight kicking drove me nuts!!!!

The amount of unbelievably bad calls from the umpires in that last quarter was shocking... but our mistakes cost us, too. Two interstate losses by less than a goal will cost us top 4 and will make it much harder to get to the GF, but we're still good enough to do it.

****ing heart breaking loss , the umps played their part but I think we shot ourselves too, we controlled MOST of the game. But they kept themselves in it by kicking straight whilst we made crucial ****ing errors in the last few mins . Castagna shot at goal last min cost us big , as well as jack not competing well against barasss. Not like it's droppable but they ****ed it up big. Shorts 50 was a huge momentum killer too. When lambo got that goal we should of killed it

Great game but lost in the centre. Good game by Chol but at this stage he needs a quality chop out. Next time we meet Nank will make an enormous difference. Note to coach - JR needs less game time to allow him to run out the game ie 95% TOG

Free kicks aside, winning that game would of just papered over the cracks that need to be looked at over the next fortnight.
Cant win finals with that many simple skill errors and lack of defensive effort (especially in the forward 50).
Having said that week off will do us good, will go close to winning every game for the rest of the year.
