Bevo realized by qtr time that Soldo is extremely predictable with his tap outs and instructed his players to feed off them. His "clever" little over the shoulder taps were almost entirely roved by the opposition. We need a bona fide ruck coach.

I know you know this but that was his first AFL game. He started playing the code three years ago. In what universe was he going to be a sophisticated exponent of the rucking arts? It's a miracle he can get from contest to contest and put his hand in the air.

As I said we need a proper ruck coach. All you have to do in that situation is be tall and provide a contest, a 50/50. Whoever instructed him to try and clear the ball over his shoulder almost every time was slightly off.

He's hysterical. He's great in just about anything he's in. Especially Night Court.

Night court was a absolute classic. Every character was hilarious.

John Larroquette was asked, during an interview, about the most interesting/surprising moment on the show. He responded that an actress who turns her back to the camera and then flashed him during episode #5.7 {Who Was That Mashed Man} was supposed to be wearing short pants and full shirt but decided to wear significantly less as a joke (3m.34s) He was of course referring to the character Kitty played by a then lesser known Teri Hatcher

That's a leadership/coaching error. Cotchin or a coach should have changed it. I'm not gonna blame soldo for that.

Man I was actually kinda content with the defeat until I saw a replay of "the decision." Really brought me down.

Elton was a positive. Jack, Dusty and Cotch continue to have elite seasons. Lloyd in next week for George/Butler. I think we'll find an extra 2-3 goals a week in place of a bit of extra speed will work out just fine.

Hawks 2016 all over again.

Funny you say that, this game had a very "Hawks Vs. Dogs" feel to it from early last year.

Hawks got them by less than a goal in that game after a really fortunate run of play late in the game, but then later in the year played them again in a final and got absolutely smashed.

I reckon if we were to make the 8 and play the Dogs in a final, we'd do a number on them in much the same way as they did to the Hawks in 2016.

Dogs were EXTREMELY lucky to win tonight, we were the better team just lacked a bit of mongrel in the middle late with Nankervis and Prestia out, and Vlastuin down early.

Ha ha had a feeling you might say that.
I've still got some adrenaline in me from etihad so i might stay up for a little while. I've iqd it anyway
It's one of those things that I just can't turn off, haha! I watched the Blu-ray of it at a friend's place a few weeks ago at blitzkrieg volume. Some of the performances on it are truly awesome.

That just sparked a memory flash, remember Larry Sanders show? Brilliant
Yes! That was great. I don't think that's been played since either.

Umpiring aside... One of the biggest differences between the two sides was how clean the bulldogs were with their hands around stoppages and under pressure in general. Our pressure was frenetic, but they were always composed enough to get that extra handball away to an open man that was then, generally, able to make a good decision with the footy. Unfortunately our contested ball players (ie Dusty, Cotch and Miles) are all get ball and hack it forward type of contested players and a lot of our others do the same when put under the sought of pressure both us and the dogs exhibited. So although the clearance numbers were pretty damning as it was, they still don't tell the full story of their dominance when you take into consideration how clean there's were in comparison to ours.
