Well we did
Did you expect them to all jump in and be Brownlow medalists in their first season?

cox and dusty incident are no different. both sighted the player, lined them up and head high contact. Dusty's was lower impact as he didn't get all chin. Cox is a yank and a face of the game however
Ellis out for houli tooTravelled up to the game and took up a spot behind the goals at the scoreboard end. As mentioned during the week I wanted to see how we responded to last weeks game and I thought for the first 3 quarters we responded well. Our pressure was up, we were winning our fair share of the footy and we had our chances to put the Giants under scoreboard pressure but just weren't able to convert and went in at 3/4 time 9.14 to 13.10 meaning we entered the last quarter down 20 points and down 2 players. For me the last quarter was a write off, down 2 players the Giants were a good chance of running over us and unfortunately they did.
Positives:
Stack looked calm and composed once he got that first error out of the way and I liked how he didn't let that ruin the day for him. He kept attacking the man and the contest at every opportunity. Added a bit of energy down back and will only get better from here.
Prestia got his hard running ball winning game back which was sorely missed the first couple of week, shame some of his disposals were poor when we least needed it.
Lambert like Prestia got his hard running ball winning game back up and running and kept on working hard for all the full game.
McIntosh looks like it has all come together for KMac, he is running hard, ball use has improved and I'm calling it now we could be seeing him finish top 3 in the Jack Dyer Medal at this rate.
Negatives:
Injuries are starting to bite especially when they are happening to our important players. Rance Riewoldt Houli Cotchin & Short are all key players in our line up and have all fallen victim to injuries in the first 3 weeks, add to that Caddy has been missing as well and it's little wonder were struggling.
The use of Balta, we need to make a decision on Balta and stick with it. Either we're going to use him as our second ruck and up forward or we're going to use him as a KPD. For mine I'd put him at CHB and leave him there and use the next 19 games to develop him as the long term Rance replacement. As I said during the week I don't think we can play both Astbury and Garthwaite in the same line up, especially when Grimes returns as well. Too similar in how they play and takes away a lot of our run and spread from the back half.
Castagna & Butler when Lynch was signed I concluded that we could no longer play the 3 small forwards set up and one of them had to make way. Well after seeing the first 3 weeks of the season it has become even clearer that we need to make a call and go with just the 2 small forward and neither of these 2 should be in the line up on current form. I'd give Rioli and chance to go work with Bolton, who can also play up the ground as well.
Changes:
Out - Martin(susp) Short(inj) Cotchin(inj) Garthwaite(omit) Butler(omit)
In -Grimes Ross Caddy Bolton CCJ
B: Grimes Astbury Broad
HB: Vlastuin Balta Stack
C: McIntosh Prestia Edwards
HF: Higgins Lynch Caddy
F: Rioli CCJ Bolton
R: Nankervis Graham Lambert
INT: Castagna Markov Ross Ellis
why drop ****? Dome well. need to find a spot for townsend.Broad aint getting dropped. Dreaming. Doesn't deserve to either
funny how we have had a horrific run with injuries and not a peep about it from the richmond hate squad aka the media.....#onlythepiesgetinjuries...
how on gods earthdoes castanga stay in the side?Ellis out for houli too
Edit castagna out for Bakerhow on gods earthdoes castanga stay in the side?
I am excited to see some of the youngsters personally. this year is looking like a rebuilding year. it's about turning adversity into opportunity...imagine how good we can be next year with all our guns healthy and on top of that 10 to 15 games into Ross, balta, stacky, garthwaite. we also have the mid year draft this year to help cover some injuries. It’s 2012 again, enjoy watching our Tiger cubs get some games and see how they progress, you can’t help bad luck.
Colonwood injury last year was full of match winners - Flynn Appelby, Brayden Sier, Lynder Dunn, Travis Varcoe and Daniel Wells.
Our injuries - Rance, Jack, Houli, Caddy now Cotchin and Short.
Which group of players would you want in your side ? But hardly a peep from the media.
we dont have a jay clarke in the media to fondle our nutsackNo #bravetigers for us after playing the last quarter two players down.
yep cos it was only bone bruising but its obviously still lingering like cotch in 2013 (same injury)If his knee was damaged against the shemons do you think he would've played 6 days later against the Hawks ?

Towner would have tested himCan't believe nobody bothered to test out Cameron how a key forward can run around with a crook shoulder and not get tested is a disgrace .

Why do you think Martin will get suspended for Tom Mitchell didn’t when he elbowed Goldstein in the face
our injuries last year were worse than pies injuries last yearColonwood injury last year was full of match winners - Flynn Appelby, Brayden Sier, Lynder Dunn, Travis Varcoe and Daniel Wells.
Our injuries - Rance, Jack, Houli, Caddy now Cotchin and Short.

I maintain that, at least initially, Collingwood's injuries were a blessing in disguise. They were forced to play kids like Mihochek, Stephenson, Thomas who probably weren't all considered best 22 yet, and they unearthed gems as a result and became as good as they were.Rance, Riewoldt, Houli, Cotchin.
Making Collingwood's 2018 injuries look like paper cuts.
Agree. Was replying to an earlier comment that wanted him droppedwhy drop ****? Dome well. need to find a spot for townsend.
It wasn’t to be, but I still think we did ok with our next option. He went on to win goty and play his best game (to date) in a prelim in his second year. It’s no Ben Lennon what if/ if only situation.Off topic....
Hipwood 5 goals at half time
Did you know ...Brisbane secured versatile tall Eric Hipwood with Pick No. 14 in the 2015 National Draft, after matching Richmond's bid.
Totally agree with this. Garth will go next week and backs will be Grimes, ****, Vlaus, balta, stack, Astburynice write up. I think that is pretty accurte.
Good games by Lambert and Prestia. That should be their minimum output from now.
Like you i'd definitely drop Butler and also drop Ellis. His panicked bumbbling has gone on for long enough. I'd bring in Moore ahead of CCJ.
I don't think it's all grim. the endeavour and pressure was way up this week.

Fairly astute (but also fairly lucky) recruiting...
