Finals are gone now.

Ralphsmith out to the VFL for 3 weeks minimum.

Cotchin can't play 4 quarters and needs to be SUB ONLY until he gets to 300 games then unfortunately he's cooked and done.

Ross must come in and play the rest of the year, as must Sonsie.

Persist with Ryan as a KPF.

Mansell isn't going to take us anywhere, try someone like Banks or Dow in the side.

Not much else, not a heap of options in the VFL right now.

We don’t get any better with Ross and Dow and now probably Sonsie. They will just be planted on a flank, away from their true midfield position. Hopper and TT have killed off their development. Hartley has some real squad management issues to deal with.

After choco left we won 3 flags , what are you on about
Yes after developing most of the current generation of stars and turning blokes like Dusty from good into elite.

Have a read of what he’s done at Melbourne in helping develop blokes from fringe to firm contributors.

Our backline is the worst in the league. Almost impossible to win games when we gift the opposition 15-17 goals every game

It’s team defence. We have clearly over corrected from last year. Just hoping the second half of the year the system clicks into gear and we can see what they’re trying to do. At the moment they look confused AF and can’t hit the side of a barn with a kick

Im 99% sure that MRJ did his hammy in the final minutes of the game. Saw him pull up. Broadcast barely picked it up.

Nah, they picked it up. They said that he didn't grab it like a player normally does when they ping one. They also noted that he had 2 sprint efforts after he did it so they weren't sure.

Outs - Ralph-Smith, Vlastiun, MRJ, Cotchin,

Ins - Broad, Ross, Sonsie, Graham

Sub - Cotch

I’d love to drop Miller but we don’t have anyone to replace him.. Soldo and Biggie not ready and we playing against Witts

Wouldn’t be against giving Bauer a debut either, looks the goods in VFL

Hardwick subs out Miller, then moves Balta out of an already depleted back line.

Result. Melbourne newby forward Van Roo dominates the final quarter kicks multiple goals.

Richmond smashed around the ball and in defence following Dimma's shifting the magnets.

Major coaching clanger.
Absolutely crazy I couldn’t believe he made that call.
Exactly what you said and it left Ryan to fight it out against the best 2 ruckman in the competition. And gave us no 2nd target up forward apart from JR who was spent.
Mind boggling by Dimma

We desperately need a smooth moving quick highly skilled distributer in the side who can hit a target and set up play. Short probably our closest to this but we literally have no one else who fits this mold.

It seems our recruitment to this point is based on the old game plan that suited us at the time where skills weren't highly regarded and each was recruited for specific roles. Unfortunately with changes to rules the game has changed and we are left with a poorly skilled squad who struggle to move the ball with precision and then our weakened defence can't handle the ball coming back in at speed after we turn it over.

Overall we seem to be starting to show some signs of improvement but it's going to take time given the young players we are currently carrying. Maybe as we get some more players back from injury we might be able to play out games for the full 4 quarters but it seems we are a mid table side at best from what we are seeing.

Also, Cotchin's last quarter shows why he needs to be sub. Much better when the players slowed down and were tired. Lessened his liability due to his lack of pace.

Imagine if we lose to gcs at home LOL

Gold Coast has kept its finals hopes alive with a stunning after-the-siren goal from Noah Anderson to complete a comeback from 40 points down against Richmond

When Jayden Short was penalized for a silly 50m penalty, the Suns had narrowed to 11 points with just over three minutes to go.

“They just can’t finish them,” Anthony Hudson said of Richmond.

When Mabior Chol got to the back of the pack and almost fluffed his pick up in the goal square before soccering a goal from the ground, the Suns had less than a minute to keep their season alive.

Richmond had chances to put the game to bed but misses left the door ajar for the Suns, with a goal to Sam Day keeping the hosts alive.

Some costly misses to Richmond in front of goal and an extraordinary finish from Noah Anderson sealed the win for the Suns.

Melbourne are shite and won’t win the flag this year , they were shite last year too . There so called dynasty won’t happen

Why didn’t we let HRS go to GWS as Kingsley wanted him as part of the Taranto and Hopper trade is mind boggling we could have still kept on for first pick.

The pizza man - Ivan Soldo is back next week straight in.
Broad and Ross in.
Out - Miller, MRioli (injured) HRS

Sonise gets a full game at the Swinburne starting at 11.05am 😂

Hopefully he is okay, but the way he pulled up it looked like a hammy, they don't always grab at it.
Plus MRJ is the type to still put in repeat efforts even if he thought he was injured.
