It's probably already been spoken about so apologies but what was the deal with Day looking so angry at 3QT and going after Ginni after he kicked that goal? Looked like he wanted to deck him :tearsofjoy:

I think that was about Ginni taking a shot when he had options in front of him. Ginni should have passed the ball off. Maybe Day was saying that you owed that goal?

At a guess.

P.s. I love Day. Future captain. Hard arse.

yeah i came to question whether it was as aggro as it seemed? Wanted to know why - was it just the style of celebration?
It would have to be the fact he burned 3 team mates 5 minutes earlier and missed what should have been a certain goal. Then Adelaide kicked the next 3.

Seemed over the top though.

Can't really call it over the top without knowing context. From Sicily I might consider it over the top, but Day doesn't exactly have form in going off like that so I'm assuming there was more of a reason than that one event.

How good was that !!?? First half just epic , so many critical moments and plays. We’re doing the hard stuff, the tough stuff now and it’s making all the difference.

Very good for 2 and a half quarters then it became sloppy and selfish.

Next step Is to bury a team, been up by 40+ in the 3rd quarter 3 times so far for just a 45 and 27 point wins and the Port loss

The group isn't fit enough to run out 4 quarters with the same first half intensity. But look out when we can.

He was definitely better than his player rating indicates but fantasy had Crouch as best on.

Yep the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I think he’s had some better days and he is a bit off 100 with his execution and decision making.

But I’ll take a 20+ and 2.3 game as an ok game for a small forward any day. I love his investment and energy. Has improvement to his game but he feels all in.

Amazing win, comprehensively outplayed them and good have won by more.

Controversial opinion, I do love Ginny, but I think he needs a week in the VFL to keep his ego in check. If he can remain calm and team focused he will be incredible for us.
Ignacious Constantino 22 possessions, 2 goals 3 behinds (also would have had a shot on goal if CJ hadn't off been stupid and got ball reversed) 9 score involvements, 8 inside 50's and you want to drop him. Yes should have passed to Dear in 3rd quarter but Ginni has been fantastic for us

Only one negative from the day was CJs form. He looks like he could do with a run in the VFL to find some touch TBH.

CJ has come back from a pretty serious injury and is still coming to grips with things. He is our future winger and will come good again, but dropping him to the magoos is not the right thing to do just yet.

My word it was a spray from Will and well deserved because IMO Jack needs to check his ego at the door.

That was also my initial impression, but I just re-watched it and there was certainly a bit of edge to it. It went on for a while too.

Hodgey used to do the same with guys like Izzy albeit much less animated.

Think Day just wanted to settle the troops and remind them that there is still a job to do.

He's a future captain.

Cholly got right inside the defenders heads from the get go, created messes, gave attitude. Was a huge part of them dropping their bundle. And then went into ruck and showed off his trademark "speccy tap". Great game that won't show on the stats sheet.

That deliberate tap to the teeth of goals for Moore to run onto was Roughesque.

Love the Hawthorn version of Chol.

It's not a controversial opinion at all, it's simply a really silly opinion that probably would have been best, kept to yourself.

Just got back - great win!

21 of the 22 cracked in all day.

One bloke catted the place up with conditional efforts or no effort at all.

I'll leave this for now as lets celebrate the win, but I'm sure a few of you saw what I, and all those around me saw.

Great win for Jack!

We have been spreading so well from the contest over the past month. Noticeably less fumbly, more precise and one touch.

And this new holding the ball interpretation should suit our game style. Our attack and pressure on the ball carrier is immense. We have also never been a 'drop ball when tackled' team. So I feel the net effect will positive.

The only negative from the game is the the free kick we give away when lining up for goal but choose to get in the face of the opposition before we slot it. Hopefully this is just a maturity thing because I don't really like seeing it.

I honestly have no idea who you are referring to.

I think whilst finals are still a possibility we need to pick our best team each week and currently CJ isn't best 23 based on his form since coming back.

I have always been a big fan of CJ and we are a better side when he is up and about but right now he looks like he needs a spell to get his touch back.

Bit much being made of Ginnivan burning Dear. He got the ball with the plan to score and I don't think he expected to turn around to see two free teammates in an otherwise empty 50.

I've seen plenty of people (including myself) post over the years "I just wish players would take the shot if they're inside 50 rather than look to pass it off".

Of course it's a bit different in this situation and also because he missed, but ultimately he's got that mindset to own the moment. He knew he stuffed up afterwards. Lesser, even more experienced players would have gone into their shell after that. He continued to stand up and help the team get the win.

He's still a kid developing his game. And today's performance overall was really good. Should've had an extra goal if CJ hadn't got his monty shot overturned.
