Today’s game by Moore should finally shut up those who constantly whinge that he is “too slow” - he is an out and out footballer who gut runs the whole game and just knows where the goals are

On this point, the Howe, Hartigan and Shiels detractors can EAD. Those calling for Shiels head all year in particular have no idea. Truck is vital in protecting our young backline and is a significant upgrade on Frawley. Howe has had horrid injuries in the past two years and barely had a preseason. This is what he can do once he get a bit of continuety and fitness

Timmy was awesome today but still needs to make those marks stick, hope this game is the turning point. I hope Mitchell stays but it he does want to move on it’s a top ten pick of no deal

Everything has been said about the young brigade today, special kudos to Bramble, great composure for only his second game

What a result!!

firstly, we suck at tanking

secondly, our kids are showing plenty and we are building a strong winning culture.

Day was superb, as was Scrimmers, defence as a whole was superb.

mids we’re excellent and worked hard all day.
Forward line looked dangerous and lively

some huge positives from this game

Well said. 👍😊

Moore is a footballer's footballer. Loving his output.

Very small responses from our bigfooty posters today. I wonder whether they lack a sniping target or on holidays?

Man..... My Dad died yesterday - He was a lifelong Hawks fanatic. He would've been proud of the effort today.

I know it's dumb but I feel like it was the club he followed all his life giving him a send off. Couldn't hold back the tears after the game.

So proud of this club

Very sorry for your loss. Take care and Go Hawks .

Great that we got the win, the 2nd quarter was excellent and shows the potential we have our best is good enough to take anyone on, just need to build the experience to hold that kind of effort and will over the full 4 quarters each and every week. Great that we recovered composure when we started to wobble for a bit there in the 3rd quarter.

TOB...I'm still laughing, a mark had to stick one time, hopefully he can back that up with some more marks, I want him to succeed because he always gets into great positions.

Silk into the 400 club...lets pump games into him through to end of the year and get ahead of a few on the all time list!

I think Scrimmers is almost our most consistent performer over the last 2 years.

Can't really recall any truelly bad games from him since he joined the club to be honest.

That's how I rate players by and large, on their consistency.

Players like DeGoey or Stringer will have the odd outstanding game but plenty of dross in between but Scrimmers brings a high base level of performance every week.
Here's been great. What I really like is what I didn't expect from him - strength in the air and toughness at the contest. Couple that with his elite kicking and we have a (or another) genuine threat on our hands.

Listened to the ABC call when I couldn't watch parts; Malthouse called us "the best marking side in the competition".

Even if we're not, we've got some pretty handy players in the air. More in one squad than I can remember for many a year.

Absolutely👍

Special mention to Pickers on SEN , never heard a 'neutral' caller so flat on a result .

Couldnt even pretend to be half excited about some of our younger players.
Reckon he dropped some large on the Giants ....bad luck mate we will be up amd about again soon champ🙂
Didn’t get that from him, thought he was just disappointed with how poor they are given their list.

Loved how Clarko pretty much confirmed DGB will miss this week but back the week after! He's backing in the youngsters which is fantastic although according to some we don't have YOUTH or give them any games APPARENTLY!!
Win or lose from here , the future is looking very bright.

As much as David King is a bit of a numpty, he had it right in saying our backline is probably the most aggressive in the league. Almost all of them are elite contested/intercept markers
Day
Scrim
CJ
DGB
Hardwick

Nice... very nice
And that’s without Impey or Sicily in that list either 👀
