Did we rest a few late? I feel Meek was off a long time and Weddle and Chol did lots more rucking than usual. Nash too seemed to play less minutes and hence less ruck.

Day too.

Hopefully no issues just making sure everyone is cherry ripe for next week and no risks. Especially with Meek as Reeves didn't play at Box Hill today (anyone know why? Just listed as injured)

Nice pick up. Day was almost unseen last week against the pies in the last 10 minutes as well. 74% game time isn't high for a prime midfielder. Gotta feeling Sam and his cohorts are sneakily resting a couple of stars once the game is over in the last qtrs. Just something to look out for in coming weeks.

Ward is pretty unlucky with these selfies. Last week got an arm across his face, this week completely hidden behind Sic! Needs to learn better selfie body positioning. Maybe another stint in the VFL?

He should just tag Connor MacDonald, most weeks he'll lead him to the A1 selfie position.

Just enjoyed the replay, very impressive by the Hawks. I'm not one to pay much attention to commentators, but I get the feeling Gerard Healy isn't all that happy to see the Hawks on the rise. I didn't appreciate his comment about the AFL needing to look at why Hawthorn smalls get more frees than other clubs. Make up your mind Healy, either commentate or administrate. Don't do both.

Hawks are a very well drilled team; everyone seems to understand their role and execute well. Will Day could become one of the all-time great Hawks players, but right now I'm just enjoying what he brings to the table. I was happy enough to recruit Chol, I thought he'd be handy, but I never fully appreciated his talent.

Very disappointed in Michalanney. He's better than that.

That was wild haven’t been to an Adelaide game in Adelaide for about 12 years. Forgot they were the worst supporters in the league. Threatened, abused, stood over…was with both my kids on my own too. The whinging my god the whinging…just relentless. They are the worst supporters in the league by a mile. Thank fk we smashed them, we were unbelievable. So proud to be a Hawk supporter…absolutely awesome.
Just some advice. There's always a group of Hawks fans who gravitate together, today there was a number of them behind the goals at the scoreboard end. Just take your kids to those areas, you'll be most welcome.

OK.

I need to know who had that MASSIVE flag with the Hawk on it behind the sticks?

That was an epic effort. I would love to buy one. DM me :)

F*** I love that away jumper.

And I f****** love the migthy HFC right now. So proud.

In Sam (and Sic!!!) we trust!!!

Also I think the free kick stats for those players Healy is talking about also includes htb when they tackle. So it's a stupid point.

Also I absolutely hate using free kick counts as a discussion point. If you want to critique umpires talk about missed free kicks or incorrect frees paid. Nearly all free kicks are correct decisions so however many there are, is either the correct amount or too few, rarely is it too many.

1 such error though, scrimshaw caught a touches ball and everyone thought it was a mark, instead of calling play on the umpires balled it up? Error

Scrimshaw should have been paid a holding free in that contest. Error

Another instance of touched ball and Adelaide player claimed the mark despite everyone else knowing it was touched. Had prior, tackled, threw it, no free. Error. Should be holding the ball.

If the umpire doesn't blow the whistle the mark wasn't paid, you can't just assume it was a mark and get away with htb.

Kind of amazing we aren’t in the 8 with the sustained run of form we’ve had for so long now…. The price for dropping 5 up front.

Playing as well as anyone in it.

Get ducked swans and blues.

Let’s just consider those first five as our pre-finals run training block.

It’s official. We’re changing Australia Day to Will Day.
Maybe even a few CHOLidays

Congrats to Ward and the coaches for biting the bullet 8 weeks ago and deciding to go back to what got Ward drafted in the first instance - playing in the guts rather than out wide What they were trying to do with him wasn’t bearing fruit and know we are seeing a far better version week by week.

Had we held on against Port, Hawks would be on 48 points, Port on 44. We would be in the 8
Perhaps if the timekeepers were also diligent enough ….

Nash will continue to fly under the radar but he was massive today.

He just continues to bully small midfields and I don't think it's a coincidence how we've dismantled Freo, the Pies and the Crows who just lack someone who can match his size.
Between Nash and Weddle we are building some real difficult match ups for opposition, especially in second halfs. Their run through the middle when playing in ruck is going to cause real headaches.

I think we have only just seen the tip of the iceberg with this, but these two blokes offer something most teams don’t have or find difficult to match up on. And with Mabior jumping all over the opposing relief ruck, good luck.

Our running power is a thing of beauty. Those slow lumbering opposition tall forwards better mark incoming balls because they will be hailing a cab chasing tail on the way back. It’s been very evident for many weeks now.

I'll be there, as I was for the Snow game, CARN HAWKS!!!
Have a great time! I pass the baton to you.
Port fans make them look like Buller going Demon fans
Utter tripe. For those of us who survived the early years at Football Park, there's a reason why crows fans are held in contempt. They are the reason why I wouldn't take my kids to a crows game until they were over 16.

So all arguments about dirt supporters aside, our defensive pressure today was excellent. Burge has our team humming very nicely. Our speed on the ball, whether it's ground ball or by foot is exciting in the extreme.

We've got something really special coming up.

Again.

We, as a club, have been so fortunate and we should revel in that. Our 14th isn't that far away.
