Ugh very disappointing. Earlier in the year we were snatching victory and we had nothing to lose. Now the title says it all everything to lose and we snatched defeat.

We are still only a game out but next week's 8 point game against Carlton is a must.

Once again showing you can't play Gunner and Breust at the same time. Both have their role and play it well but that game changed the second we brought Breust on and they just started running out of the backline at will.

Quiet game from Ginni and Wizard after half time really hurt.

Knew we were done with that moment on the half forward flank with 6 minutes when we just kept handballing back 4 or 5 times until it fumbled out of bounds instead of trying to find a kick inside 50

Complete negative mindset for most of the last quarter again

Countering the gws flood and run? One goal came from a htm free against hawthorn, which was happening all quarter with no frees

Great game. Let’s admit the Giants played really well. Thought we were fortunate to be 28 in front it was always going to tighten up. In the end their mids got on top and we couldn’t prevent their run off half back. Missed a KP presence to give us the relieving mark down the line (not Dear’s day).

Seems they didn’t learn anything at all from the port game
Went into preservation mode far too early and the cost is huge

I stand to be corrected but it did seem that there were some who weren't prepared to run as hard in the last quarter and a few who went missing completely

There will be some very disappointed boys tonight

Season over. Awful last quarter. Concede 7 in 1 qtr after GWS only had to 5 to 3qtr time.

Mentally not strong enough. Had them on toast and got spooked by them freewheeling from defence again.

No one could win a contest in the last ... terrible way to lose again. After Port loss you would think it wouldn't happen again, but here we are.

Actually the season is alive still and if our young Hawks get one final in 2024 they will better for experience.

It’s a long season for a young team on the rise. We reset and look to our next game.

Umpires had no influence

Had that feel all day.

Breust and Gunston can not play in the same forward line again. They were just able to bounce the ball all the last quarter due to the lack of pressure
Had nothing to do with Bruest and Gunston. They played well. It was downfield and the unwillingness to take the game on in the last quarter a la Port Adelaide.

Bitterly dissopointing we controlled most of the game. Honestly we should never have lost from that position, the Giants smelt the blood and took the Win.

Hogan was the difference, Dear was the tactical sub. You can see why the club is heavily investing into the spine.

We have bridged the gap and should be proud off our efforts none the less.

Lack of leadership in the game today.
Noone telling the midfield to settle down (was back to rd 1 style of them overcommitting forward and exposing us on transition as a result)

Defence lost its way. Lots of finger pointing and no accountability. Sicily gets exposed for lack of leadership when things aren't going his way. He isn't vocal enough to get teammates to create space etc.

Ginnivan lost that spark today. Normally, while he isn't getting tackled, he is breathing down the opponents neck. Today he was miles off it.

Having said that though, we played very very poorly and only lost by 2 points, and it took until red time in the last, with the umps bending us over, for them to take the lead. There's a lot to like going into the future
