Negatives: The mass injuries to a lot of most important players.

Positives: Nigh on everything else. There were a lot of mistakes but the absolute effort by the players to keep going for a quarter and a half before hitting the wall energy wise was the best i've seen from the club in a long, long time. Simpson showing just how much he cares, being there on the bench, calling out to the players, settling the youth. Class act.

That running goal he should of nailed it, I don’t care that we lost and I’m proud of the way we went about it but that missed shot on the run really has deflated me for some reason no excuses there

Yeah Simmo said we might lose six or seven from this, and given we ‘only’ lost five during the game (plus Chesser who came back on) that’s pretty impressive.

Showed heart today. More than I’ve seen for a couple of years.
That 2nd qtr was shattering, watching Shuey and then Gov go down but the boys didn’t drop their heads and kept fighting it out. All you can ask from them.

Saw a glimpse of the future. Was great to see some young guys step up and SPS was a highlight. Ginbey continues to impress. I reckon our rising star drought might be broken this week.

BBW fought hard but Darcy smashed us, particularly in the first half.

Umps were awful and the score flattered the Dockers

I’ll do other positives later but I’m giving our coaching staff a tick

Came up with a plan to counter Freo’s dominance in the ruck. Would have led by 2 or 3 goals had it not been for a couple of misses and a couple of highly debatable free kicks - count was 1-8 at one stage
Backed the players to keep moving the ball as a priority
Refocused the side at half time when the game looked like it was going to be all over

Despite the loss, Simmo had a good day

Trust me, there's no Freo fan who thinks we deserved that. We can all agree we were lucky to get away with that. Your boys fought ****ing hard in that 3rd quarter, you'd have to be proud of your young talent there.

I will forever refer to this game as Round 3: The Hobbling.

Loved the fight from the boys. Pathetic purples and their mates the umpires should have absolutely ****ed us but they couldn't **** our spirit.

Noticed a couple of nice don't argues from Samo. Liking his game.

Hewett is getting there.

Chesser's block is over. I want to see what Luke Edwards can do.

Noah Long is my new fave.

Waterman tried, can't expect him to replicate last week every week. I would persist.

Clear change in the game plan and Simmo looks fired up. I like.

Not sure what happens to this new game plan with so many key injuries. Could get ugly from here and probably will. I just hope to see the same mongrel and ball movement for the rest of the year, if that is possible.

[*]Awesome effort under the circumstances, our 3rd quarter was so good
[*]Simmo has buy in & the boys clearly playing for each other again
[*]SPS very good in last couple of games since missing R1
[*]Oz growing into it again. Tough for forwards when injuries mounted up
[*]Hunt a good pick up, has looked solid and provides dash
[*]Ginbey is a stud. We might have a quicker Crippa
[*]Long, Hewett both gonna be good players for us too
[*]TK was great, has been close to best for us last two games and has started the season well and leading from the front
[*]With injuries comes opportunity in a season where W/L is less relevant than development
[*]Freo never going to do anything of relevance. We will contend again before they genuinely do imo
