I like Lamb but I'm not optimistic about him being on the list next year, he is one I feel for a bit because he has had a pretty tough upbringing.
Just out of interest, do you know what the maximum number of senior listed players you can have on the list is? I thought it wasn't able to go above 40.
Kennedy has my vote for the player most likely to have a breakout year next year, I'm hoping for 25 disp, 5 tackles and 5 clearances per game. It would be a huge boost to our midfield if he could manage that.
I'm hoping we pick up Hugh Goddard as a DFA, I was a little bit shocked when I heard he was delisted by the Saints. He's a big fella who can take a mark, has a decent left peg and isn't afraid to take on the tackler and go for a bit of a run. With Rowe and ASOS both off the list you would have...
Agreed. Best 22 is a pretty meaningless concept as there will almost always be injuries, best 30 is more relevant and Newman will definitely be in our best 30 next year.
Dream scenario:
Brisbane's pick 5 makes its way to Freo for Neale then to Melbourne for Hogan then to Gold Coast for May. Gold Coast want to spread their high picks across multiple drafts so agree to trade pick 5 for our 2019 1st and Casboult.
We go to the draft with 1 and 5 and take Walsh and...
You can’t possibly know that. They could very easily take Walsh, they have stacks of Victorians on their lists and wouldn’t be afraid of adding another especially when Walsh has emphasised how loyal he will be to whoever drafts him.
I’m hoping in a couple of years we will be able to put him in the Rockliff, Carlisle and Trav Cloke basket of bullets dodged. So far, the target that we missed that hurts the most is probably Devon Smith. Or Tom Mitchell, depending on how hard we actually chased him.
Hawthorn putting Burton's name forward as someone they're willing to trade is a massive red flag for me. If they actually believed that he was going to be as good as all the hype suggested then I couldn't see them trading him.
Lovell for Pick 69 I would do though. :D
I love how Carlton has just given a big **** you to the AFL regarding our priority picks. All along the AFL knew that they were basically worthless in a draft year where there were no standout mature age players but wanted it to look like they were providing us assistance all the same. We've...
Marchbank is a funny one because you just know that he could be a star but he looks so low on confidence sometimes, he needs a mind coach more than anything I reckon and according to that interview with Russell that'll be one of his main responsibilities, training players mentally for game day...
I think you often see Aboriginal players compared to other Aboriginal players because they have a certain X-factor that a lot of white players just don't have, they tend to move better and have more silky skills. There are exceptions of course, the closest comparison I can think of for Zac...
I agree that Graham and LeBois should be moved on but that only leaves four senior list spots available (hoping Byrne stays on). We're at least bringing in McGovern, Fasolo, Setterfield and Walsh but will likely use pick 43 and 67 at the draft so will probably need to move on two more players...
I think we should just move him on even if it means accepting a pick that we don't even use at the draft. I would rather move him on and keep Lamb and Kerridge who at least offer depth in an area of the ground where we don't have much.
Pick 13 = 1212 points
Pick 26 + 28 + 40 = 1835 points (almost pick 5)
Sydney walking away from this deal very nicely. Will be able to use those picks on Blakey and have something left over once you factor in the academy discount.
We’re paying slight overs for McGovern and Adelaide paid slight overs for Gibbs. Fair is fair.
Hopefully this settles any bad blood between the two clubs going forward.

We'll see, I reckon GWS will cave and accept 9 and some other pick upgrades with * holding on to their future first. Look at how cheap they picked up Smith last year.
