That photo actually makes me feel kind of bad for Nicks. Makes me think the cluster* Pyke and Campo had created was even worse than it looked from the outside.

Part of it from watching the doco seemed to stem from the fact the players didn't really understand what he was asking them to do.

Probably not helped by the quality of our assistant coaches at the time either.

I know I should stop arguing with cheerleaders, but it’s hard because there are numerous who like to argue the same point with me. It then looks like I’m not letting go and repeating myself over and over. Perhaps you could all get together and nominate a head cheerleader and I’ll just engage with them. But can the others please not quote me and then complain when I either a) don’t respond or b) respond.

Sure. But it's only twelve, and it's only in a role that takes diminishing midfield time, while he still offers leadership around the club.

Crouch would be expecting 40+ games over the next two years in the guts and can't play anywhere else.

I would have delisted Sloane, but the club obviously feels we need transitional leadership while our list is still so young. It's incredibly boring that every thread gets hijacked by Sloane complaints.

The high level of seemingly life boredom a number of posters on this forum have is truly staggering.

I might start adding 20+ posts to every thread congratulating the club for getting Dawson for way-unders, Murray as a rookie bargain, great drafting with Pedlar, Worrell, etc etc. Start boring the shit out of the same pre-disposed negative nellies

There has been a recent increase in posts that are filling the board with unnecessary trolling, baiting, playing the man and repetitive circular arguments.

This sort of behaviour is against the spirit of the board and existing forum rules.

Things such as:

• Labelling posters as sycophants, cheerleaders, club employees, opposition club supporters, club haters (or similar) when they disagree with your post
  
  
• Tagging in posters who you've previously disagreed with into a discussion they weren't currently part of to bait them into a response
  
  
• Targeting a poster's character or previous posting habits, instead of the substance or content of their posts
  
  
• Responding to a poster with insults, belittlement, attacks or other unsociable content rather than discussing the substance or content of their posts
  
  
• Derailing threads with off topic discussion, or unrelated discussion that has already been repeated ad naseum elsewhere

...are all against the current rules. Please keep things civil and respectful of one another, even if people disagree with you, and even if the club isn't currently performing up to scratch.

If you don't play nice and respect the forum rules, you can expect to receive warnings and infractions

I guess by definition he’s a hybrid mid ( inside / outside ) which is what we were lacking in centre square

But he’s a centre square mid , which I think was main point

Nicks isn't a defensive coach... but wants us applying plenty of pressure... with an attacking game style. Much better than last season!

My main issue is he is too conservative in selection policy & refuses to properly manage most players during the season. It cost us as many of our players ended up playing on fumes... meanwhile the sanfl has been dominating most games.

Agree on all fronts

Hopefully he can learn from his errors and grow as a coach

I think he will take our offer. I doubt other clubs offers will be any more money, just the length of contract may be an extra year.

If Crouch stays and plays all year he will get another contract.

Why bother offering Crouch a 1 year deal? Seems like you either build your next midfield around him and offer 2-3 on decent coin, or you decide to refresh and tell him to canvas other offers.
