Has anyone heard a rumour of the crows putting a huge offer in front of a player straight after finals? Any ideas? Assuming it's a player from a finals bound team.
No, but if we did it better be someone we think can be a gun mid.
Zac Bailey?
Cam Rayner?

There has to be a salary squeeze at Brisbane surely!

Think we might have missed that ship...if we are talking finals bound teams, and assuming South Australian origin, Callum Wilkie, NWM or Wil Hayward? First two have many years left on their contracts (and doubt Wilkie as VC moves)..but last one is out of contract next year isnt he?
RFA 2024. Maybe swans would be willing to trade him out this year.

Will Hayward fits for me. Elijah Hollands? SUrely not Bazlenko.

I heard Rayner may be looking elsewhere. They were talking about a melb club but maybe it's us. Bailey isn't going anywhere. Contracted until 2026.

I've heard we will try to get Hayward due to the Dawson friendship connection. THe others are just pure guesses based on a rumour I heard we will offer big money to a player straight after finals.
Maybe this is why we’re waiting on McAdam?

Not sure it’s the best use of cap, although Hayward is a hell of a player

Hopefully the plan is play Hayward in the middle then as we don’t need more forwards and he isn’t going to come cheap, especially as I believe he is contracted

Wouldn't be looking at billings would we?
I've got it!

Finals bound team.

Position of need.

It's time to bring back the GUN.

We'll have to agree to disagree .....all these scenario's are always premised on having a full best 22 ...that's a rarity with injuries, as we are seeing now

Giving good players away for nothing, doesn't sit well with me

If you want to be a dominant team, you have to bat deep to 25-28 players

The thing with depth is you do not want to pay for the privileged for having it. If you're building a contender, those players you are relying on to fill gaps in the 24--30 spots need to be on cheap contracts. That is the beauty of a salary cap and what keeps a level of evenness in competitions in football.

Sometimes you need to give good players away for draft picks to get better overall, especially if they're not a fit for your best 22 anymore. Salary cap management is that important in the grand scheme of things.

I mean I heard we are still sniffing around Tom Green even with the contract he already has but I didn't think it went as far as offer on the table just a keeping dialogue open with the manager.

I find it hard to believe we have anyone lined up that would have signed a long term contract.
Clubs will be within their rights to say get lost.
