Grundy in the tri-colors next year.
I dont think this is a bad idea. We literally have no ruck back up. We have issues with ROB at times and who knows competition in his spot can only be a good thing. Even if he loses out.

Grundy in the tri-colors next year.
IF we are targeting him - then it would be to replace the time Pedlar and Rankine are spending up forward to allow them more midfield time maybe..could be good then!!!Gets higher up the ground and creates more than McAdam.
High pressure forward too.
Re-signed a few months back..I’d love us to target Milera-Wanganeen from saints, he will be an amazing get. Would out first this year get it done??

And the top 15 midfielders in the comp according to the AFL player ranking system, and the draft picks used to get them.Would be interesting to compare to thr top ranked key forwards & midfielders.
interesting Dawson was not there as he will be right up there in the brownlow voting I would thinkAnd the top 15 midfielders in the comp according to the AFL player ranking system, and the draft picks used to get them.
C. Petracca - Pick 2
M. Bontempelli - Pick 4
L. Neale - Pick 6 & 19 (originally Pick 58)
Z. Merrett - Pick 26
Z. Butters - Pick 12
C. Oliver - Pick 4
N. Daicos - Pick 4
J. Sinclair - Rookie
T. Liberatore - Pick 40 (old f/S)
N. Anderson - Pick 2
P. Cripps - Pick 13
J. Newcombe - Mid-season Draft
C. Rozee - Pick 5
C. Serong - Pick 8
S. Bolton - Pick 29
So 10 of the top 15 mids required first round draft picks to get them, with 6 of those requiring a top 5 pick…
Whats probably the saddest part of this list, we were in a draft position and or had draft capital to have got at least one of these. And the top 15 midfielders in the comp according to the AFL player ranking system, and the draft picks used to get them.

Thanks - I suspected this... so we need to look to use our top Draft picks where possible to improve our midfield. And the top 15 midfielders in the comp according to the AFL player ranking system, and the draft picks used to get them.

For those interested, here’s a list of the top 15 Key Defenders according to the AFL Player Ratings, and also what their current clubs got them for:
D. Moore - Pick 9
H. Andrews - Pick 61
S. Taylor - Pick 28
J. Weitering - Pick 1
S. May - traded for Pick 6
C. Wilkie - Rookie Draft
J. Lever - traded for two late 1sts
A. Aliir - traded for 2nd round pick
N. Balta - Pick 25
T. Barass - Pick 43
B. Cox - Pick 41
C. Ballard - Pick 42
B. Hardwick - Pick 44
J. Buckley - Rookie Draft
J. McGovern - Rookie Draft
So 4 of the top 7 cost their clubs first round picks, but the rest cost the clubs next to nothing really…
MurrayDavis
Talia
Lever
All pretty good
Melbourne premiership side - traded May in for a pick 5 and Lever in for two first rounders.
McAsey was a poor pick. So was Galluci, Jones for a pick 9 mid. Sometimes they get it wrong

That was only because it specifically went against the AFL's wishes of getting Buddy to GWS. Anything else they'll still favour Sydney over us.The AFL banned Sydney from trading after they recruited Buddy
What does he offer McAdam is not currently as a forward.. I suppose less games injured?
So much so at the time with the shock of the announcement, VFL360 that normally shuts up shop all summer, did a special episode about this trade. That was only because it specifically went against the AFL's wishes of getting Buddy to GWS. Anything else they'll still favour Sydney over us.
Can we discuss Trigg and the Tippett fiasco which cost us a chance at Cripps again now?Whats probably the saddest part of this list, we were in a draft position and or had draft capital to have got at least one of these.
Paul Conners said it’s going to be one of the quietest trade periodsWith the way the free agency talent pool is dwindling each day with players re signing with their clubs..trade radio could be shortened to a once per week 5 minute slot just before the 5.00pm friday news
Nah ....pretty sure you can't trade a player in year 1 of a new ContractAnything in the rumour that we sign Crouch on a decent contract then trade him and pay his salary?
M.Rucci said Port were looking at something similar for one of their players last week.
This clearly only works when getting a good player back, and serves to reduce the pick required (take on salary instead of a high pick).

Rucks nextA
And the top 15 key forwards according to the AFL Player Ratings and their draft cost:
C. Curnow - Pick 12
T. Walker - Pick 75 (NSW Scholarship Pick)
J. Cameron - Picks 13,15,20
T. Hawkins - Pick 41 (old F/S)
J. Daniher - Pick 10 (FA netted Essendon Pick 7)
J. Finlayson - Third Round Pick
A. Naughton - Pick 9
N. Larkey - Pick 73
C. Dixon - Pick 10
D. Fogarty - Pick 12
H. McKay - Pick 10
R. Lobb - Two 2nd round Picks
P. Wright - Pick 8 (Essendon paid 4th round pick)
T. Marshall - Pick 16
M. Lewis - Pick 76
And it should be noted that the next three players are Franklin, Riewoldt and Lynch - all of whom were top end first round draft picks. It seems that top Key Forwards, much like midfielders, require top end draft picks to acquire…
So I think the moral of the story is use top end draft picks on midfielders and key forwards. Using such picks on KPDs is almost certainly a waste…
And the rucks:Rucks next
Doing gods work there! And the rucks:
M. Gawn - Pick 34
T. English - Pick 19
R. Marshall - Rookie Draft
J. Witts - pick 44
L. Jackson - 2 First round picks
S. Darcy - Pick 38
O. McInerney - Rookie Draft
R. O’Brien - Rookie Draft
T. Nankervis - Pick 46
K. Briggs - Pick 34
And the lesson for this is that you should never use draft capital on a ruck… the fact that Freo spent so much to get Jackson is absurd beyond belief!
However, they do see him as ruck, mid, forward, wing apparently.....And the rucks:
