Lot of ppl giving Wicks a hard time.

Whilst not his best game I agree, he had the second highest distance covered on the ground by any player (and most for swans), ranked 3rd for “pressure acts” for all swans players (behind Rowbottom and Mills) and spent almost all game time on the ground, so I suspect the coaches are seeing a lot of these little things and so his role is very important

Hickey was great around the ground but Ryder smashed him in the centre square, contributed to our midfield getting smacked by Crouch and Steele and we lost the centre clearances 16-9. His leap was just too much for Hickey. But credit to Hickey because he was great everywhere else.

Much easier to stomach a pretty poor performance like that when it takes you to 8-4. A win next week would be huge. We all would have taken 9-4. Heck, I reckon most of us would have taken 9-4 when we were 4-0, given some of the matches we had coming up.

I wouldn't be against Brand coming back in for Fox, he had a bit of a shocker. Missed a hell of a lot of defensive pieces of play that needed to be made, not getting a ball out from spoils, letting the ball out the back. I like Brand's no fuss confidence.

Our Defence is too attacking in a way. Apart from Ramps who is also a great defender, most of the back men want to distribute and initiate the counter attack.

We need a balance between accountable defenders and those that are going to launch attack

Would prefer Fox stayed in, personally. I'd probably look at McDonald for Wicks, and move Hewett into the midfield with Parker spending more time forward.

But but but attack! But but drive!

Even though that wasn’t a great game felt like a good mix. Campbell when available would lift us a little IMO or Gulden. We deserve our position on the ladder as we’ve got over the line more times than not in the close ones.

Amartey had a great game. Early he just stood there when the loose ball was there for him and I thought how poor but to his credit he was good. Deserves a chance to show it wasn’t a one off.

You could just see from the first bounce we didn't have the usual intensity we bring to a game. Callum Mills typified it to me, dunno what was going on with him but he looked apathetic from the start. His 3rd quarter was better and I reckon he might have copped a bit of a roast at halftime.

Good to win a game when you don't play well. Hopefully the coaches use this as an opportunity to remind them that you haven't achieved anything yet and just because we are unexpectedly a finals contender doesn't mean we can drink our own bathwater and expect to turn up and win. Expecting more intensity against an even worse side in Hawthorn on Friday night.
