Generally I try not to comment on umpires, but the most obvious thing today was that they had absolutely no feel for the game.
For example the 50 against Wicks may (generously) technically have been there, but how many of those would be paid each week if the same interpretation was applied?

Amartey 3 contested marks and looked confident and comfortable.
Hayward up and about. Not huge stats, but 3 goals and had an energy I50.
I've thought Rampe has been a bit up and down this year. Definitely up this game.
Really liked the Ryder/Hickey contest. Thought both had fine games.
Buddy, terrific to see him back, fit, contributing and just looks as if he's enjoying being out there.

Tackles I50, Syd 7, St Kilda 17.
It's a stat that I think is important with regards to our mindset.
Need to lift in that area.

Overall I didn't think we were as bad as others have suggested.
Had periods when I thought we looked quite good and then others when we struggled.
Part of the learning curve is to grasp the opportunity to put teams away.
Really hope next week that we put Hawthorn to the sword.

We still rely on Kennedy far to much , it’s a little concerning

He was distinctly sub par today but still kicked a great goal so kudos.

His inability to chase was exposed today. Poor bugger was in a trot.

Most Swans had good patches of play - McDonald, Hayward, Dawson, Cunningham, Florent, Rowbottom, Warner, McInerney, Heeney, ... without any one player starring over the 4 quarters.

Impressed with Amarey's final quarter.
(PS. I'm waiting for the media to (incorrectly) associate Amartey with the Swans Academy - Joel, like Florent, was recruited from the Sandringham Dragons.)

We are lucky to have Hickey, despite being on one leg.

The players who played well in last quarter: Hickey, Rowbottom, Franklin, Florent, Mills, Kennedy, Cunningham, Dawson, ... Amartey,

Hard game to watch live given the umpires were using a different rule book. We deserved the win but probably didn’t take our chances when we had them to close it out earlier.

In the last couple of years we would lose games like that so you take the win.

Amartey’s marking was strong and he’s a decent kick of the football.

Forwards did well but defence looks shaky. Midfield had their moments with Hickey easily best on ground. Great goals by Kennedy and Parker when we needed them.

Win is a win

8-4 is a smack in the face to me and what I was saying amd start of year going of last

We are building besides a few overrated young ones but we will play finals

Im sorry to say but the person who would of thought we would be 8-4 heading into the bye is Damo..

God bless his prediction.

Opposition coaches now know you need to block the corridor against us.

We need to work out a new strategy for when they do.

Have Dawson mark it just outside the square and kick from centre half back to centre half forward over the heads of the opposition plugging up the centre.

Would be nice if that simple

I think most games have ebbs and flows and it’s about absorbing the other teams flow, rampe and co were crucial then

We looked better when we had it going, credit to them they kept pushing

I think the dodgy 50s stopped us winning by 4-5 goals like we deserved

I'm dead set dirty on those two flops in particular.
