That is why Port got rid of him ..

he was good when he concentrated on Football .. but then he went off football and thinks concentrates about other things ...

he is now only going through the motions

In fairness he was 4th in the coaches votes, our leading goalkicker and probably leading our B &F before tonight. On track for AA too.

Not sure what happened last night.

How did Richmond lose to Hawthorn.

Hawthorn actually looked pretty good to start the season. 3- 1 after the hardest draw and sitting top 4 having played 3 of last year's top 4. Continuing on from a strong back end to last year.

Last 2 weeks have looked absolutely terrible - not even playing the same game plan. It has been strange.

Deplorable effort from Hawthorn. Worst I've seen in a while. Players didn't look like they wanted to be out there. Great first quarter by Pies, but after that we seemed to drag them down to our shit level. If we put that effort up against GWS last week, we'd have lost by over 100. Wingard has gone from 4th in the coaches votes, and probably AA HF nomination to a guy who can't execute basic kicks under pressure in only 2 weeks, but it is harsh to point the finger at him with so many other under performing. The only upside other than Will Day's debut is that it is hard to imagine us being much worse next week (and 3-3 is not diabolical given who we've played, but our form tonight is massively concerning). We'll need a massive jump in form to get over Melbourne at the same ground.

So many players being found out. They've been carried their whole life to premiership glory and now they've been found out to be ****ing terrible footballers.

That was so bad I actually started to laugh at just how bad we played, how average the Pies were in a 30+ point win AND how boring the game was.

Utter trash. I can't believe I'm saying this but the AFL needs to find a way to change the rules to allow for a more free-flowing game. Also the Hawks need to just accept the rebuild, we have a good core 10 for the next 8 years, time to junk the rest over the next two years.

I'm watching the EPL more than the AFL and Brighton - one of the most defensive sides in the league - look more exciting in attack than half the AFL teams.
Lol Hawthorn have been winning premierships for fun for 30 years...first sign of trouble and " I'm outta here ".

Very fickle supporter base. A few lean years and half of their members will jump off
Correct. Won flags in the 60s, 70s, (multiple), 80s (multiple) and salute again in 91. Played in 8 GFs in 9 years winning 5 of them. Ridiculous level of success but just a few years later they go within a bees d!@k of having to merge with Melbourne. Fair weather supporters not used to mediocrity. Five years of this and their membership will be a 3rd of what it is now.

They've played most of the good sides already so it's not as bad as it seems. But it's hard to see them winning the flag.

Hawthorn hate narrow grounds. That’s what I’ve gotten from their spankings at the Cattery, and now Giant Stadium two weeks in a row.

They’re a very well drilled side, still good at spreading out and playing uncontested football. But a bit of pressure on the mark and/or kick and they melt like butter. Narrower grounds destroy their ‘switches at half-back‘ game-plan, and their forward-line as a unit is one of the worst currently - so bad that any stab kick forward usually results in a bad turnover. During their three-peat they could drive the ball forward with near impunity due to the defensive work of their forwards alone (peak Puopolo, Breust, Rioli, and Roughead were great defensively, bottling the ball up in their forward half until they scored, and Hale used to counter/halve any marking contests against intercept specialists).

Hawthorn’s forward line needs a major overhaul, basically.
