BYES: PORT ADELAIDE * FREMANTLE
General Public tickets for the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Season match – Essendon v Carlton on Sunday, 9th June at the MCG are sold out.

This match is a fully ticketed event, with no further tickets to be released.

George Hewett – 50 Carlton Games

Carlton midfielder George Hewett will play his 50th Carlton game tonight against Essendon. Hewett was drafted to the Sydney Swans with pick No. 32 in the 2013 draft, joining Carlton at the end of 2021 after 120 games and a Grand Final appearance. A workhorse in the middle, Hewett’s clean disposals and his contested game are an important part of Carlton’s midfield game.

Black arm bands

The Carlton players will wear black armbands in honour of John ‘Ragsy’ Goold. Wearing number 11, Goold represented Carlton in 108 senior matches between 1963 and 1970 – amongst them the drought-breaking Grand Final victory over Essendon in 1968 and the famous come-from-behind Grand Final win over Collingwood in 1970 – his final senior game. He was awarded Life Membership in 1970 and was inducted into the Carlton Hall of Fame in 2011.

Carlton v Essendon – Sold Out

Six of the last eight games Carlton has played at the MCG, dating back to Round 20, 2023, have attracted crowds of more than 83-thousand people.

Should be a good game.

Just hoping to finally see the McKay brothers play each other.
Do Essendon supporters think Ben’s more likely to go to Harry or to Charlie?

It would be quite embarrassing for 2nd place to lose to 5th. Essendon have it all to lose and will go in big favourites. Anything other than a win is a big choke for them.
$$ markets have Carlton as firm favourites so it's definitely not a choke if Essendon drop this game, if anything the opposite.

Unlosable game for Carlton.

Three days extra break, minimal injuries to their top 16 with only Cerra, umpires pet with receiving cheap frees Infront of goal.

If Carlton loses it would be an embarrassment.
Is this the Jamie from the beginning or from the season we'd all like to forget about?

They’re loading the odds - because they know Essendon supporters are flush with all the money & the gold.

They have a such a great life, they look amazing, wear great clothes, hold interesting conversations and cook beautiful restaurant quality food, they can recite War & Peace (backwards) with one eye shut, jumping up & down on one leg!

I know right?

Carlton = big dissapointments in comparison .

Impossible to see Essendon losing this one - they just all look too damn good!

(Disclaimer) - excluding Mr Stringers’ strangely sloping head, tolerated only because he’s the best player in the comp…he also cooks well & has an amazing wardrobe…

So never then. Trust you got tickets. I've missed out but happy to watch this one from home. I do miss standing at M11 for these games
Mate, leave it with me, may be able to sort you one out, don’t hold me to it. (Obviously crazy for spares)
