Umpiring. Particularly relating to Ginnivan. Which is hilarious because I bet the same posters 12 months ago would have been calling him a ducking cheat 🤣
On Twitter Hawks are sooking about Ginnivan + are still salty about Selwood

Off half back or in the midfield ?
He's pretty good at both right now, so it's a tough call.

I saw a Dogs supporter mention that he's the 3rd best young inside/outside midfielder in the game behind Daicos & Gulden.

Was originally taken aback, but assuming he means 'young' is 2020 draft to now, and it's pretty hard to argue with. Certainly has one of the highest ceilings in the game.

Agree with what others have said. He's humming along really nicely, but I don't think he's scratched the surface of what he's capable of yet. Dempsey much the same.

One the best parts of this year has been:

1. Collingwood supporters pretending they always hated Ginnivan

2. Hawthorn supporters pretending they always loved him and thought he was hard done by.

It's amazing what a change of colours can do.

He was a turn over merchant today with his direct opponent arguably bog. I thought Parfitt was better
Still enough there to be excited about the guy. Worpel played a good game, but Bruhn as our offensive mid gave as good as he got. Tough around the pill and good decisions overall.
Parfitt was also good so no complaints there.

That's fair. Will interesting how they rearrange the midfield with Danger and Guthrie returning.

Can we just pump the brakes on Conway a little?

I thought he played well for a second-game ruckman, but let's keep it in perspective - he kept Meek honest and had a few good moments, but Meek did win the ruck battle overall... and he's Lloyd Meek, not Sean Darcy, Max Gawn, Tim English or Jarrod Witts.

For my mind, he did enough to keep his spot, and has a really good set of hands, but there's a fair way to go as well.

This board does this all the time - wanting a much-hyped young player to succeed so badly that an ok performance must be talked up as excellent. He was decent, and that's more than enough at this early stage in his career.
Found Veedubs' alt account.

He played really well and gave us hope after 13 years of mediocre ruck play. Let us enjoy it for five minutes.

Also while I think about it does anyone remember that knobhead Renegade who used to shit on Hawk non stop from his first game? I wonder what alt he's using on here these days.

I am worried about Atkins. The new guys are, and will be, fast tracked through the midfield (understandably) but that may leave him as a ‘stranded asset’

if dudes like bruhn, clark, parfitt etc are outperforming atkins enough to force him out of the team then out midfield is in an AMAZING position

But according to some he’s the first one out when Rohan comes back and this guy doesn’t do anything other than kick goals “ironically that’s his job”
I must admit it’ll be super interesting to see what happens “if” Rohan can get fit.

Close… too good to not play.

Stengle… finding form and looks good again.

Henry… is the most like for like with Rohan but is just too good not to play.

Dempsey… absolutely playing his role perfectly and consistently getting all the way up and down the ground.

It's amazing how detestable that poos and wees jumper is to me. I don't think i'm alone, but I do hate it. Getting to meet Buddy Franklin (as a Swan) through work was amazing, and he is a very likeable, approachable and humble guy, but in his Hawks jumper, could not stand him.

Was Danger's tailoring skills a big winner from today? - His rugby top was talked about both by ABC radio before the match and by Channel 7 during the rain break - and allegedly he made the top himself (or make accurately adapted an existing top)

The key to the season is going to be getting Danger and Guthrie, fit and firing. I am not comfortable going into any game against a top 4 team with that midfield. They are doing a commendable job but we have not come up against any top 8 midfields yet.

Our best 7 defenders are very solid and good enough easily (though no depth there).

Our forward line has no peer in the competition, dynamite.

We are in the race, which is all you can ask for.
Guthrie may never get back to where he was tbh

Similarly, the warmest AFL player I think I’ve ever met is James Sicily. A terrific guy.

Henry is getting his straps now- Last 7 games 4, 2, 1, 3, 0, 4, 4.

That is good going.
Ollie has 76 goals in his first 50 games. He’s an unusual type of player so it’s hard to make comparisons but here are a few with mid-sized forwards who kicked over 500 career goals:

Luke Breust - 85 after 50 ⭐
Richard Osborne - 37
Brad Johnson - 29
Peter Daicos - 98 ⭐
Michael O’Loughlin - 47
Steve Johnson - 75

I can’t have this. Nothing you say makes any sense from this point forward. :D

Our coach (and coaching group) probably not getting the plaudits they deserve.

If you’d said we’d be 3-0 including a trip to Adelaide you’d take it. Very good coaching effort with the likes of Bruhn Bowes Danger C Guthrie and Atkins all missing games.

There’ll be a few hiccups with young kids in there but we have a good balance.

C Guthrie and Rohan still there when needed. They’ll both have an impact before we’re done this year.
