Given port is a bit taller, if jetts is out do we bring in schofield?

Outs: Jetta (inj) Masten (if suspended)

Schofield was one of the best today. Could play him up the ground, has plenty of run.
Ah Chee is still not at his best and isn't ready imo.

I think that's too harsh. Surely he's more ready to go than Ainsworth?

Maybe harsh , but thats the reality of being on an AFL list.

If you don't or can't improve every year and address your weaknesses then you run the risk of being overtaken in the pecking order.

Ainsworth is going to get better as a player....... Hutch is not .... he has plateaued and he sits squarely in that bracket of player that is best described as mediocre.

Can he work on and overcome his shortcomings ??? .......history would suggest not .

But I am happy to be proven wrong again.
You see my assessment and thoughts at seasons end ,last year, Masten was cooked .... but he has been a lot better this year.

FFS I even watched him lay a tackle and earn a free kick ...... WOW.

Jokes aside Hutch is a solid and dire trier but he is not the solution to our midfield going forward.

Now another harsh critique on Hutch is this.

For a player who is about to turn 27 next month.... and as we recently had to witness a few weeks ago , kicking a set shot at goal, 40 out , to have kicked into the man on the mark ....... clearly demonstrates , sadly , that he doesn't understand the nuances of the game as his spatial awareness is diabolical .
Not to bag him on just one mistake as mentioned above, BUT he has form on this and its why he so often gets caught holding the ball , you see he has NFI whats going on around him.

Thats my opinion and its no more than that.
As we all know opinions are like arseholes ...... everyone has got one.

All of a sudden we have some depth. DV and Ryan coming back after injury. Nelson and Hutch are good back ups for emergency. We got Ah chee, Ainsworth and Brander waiting in line. Not to mention we have won 5 in a row. Some tough games ahead but I always like a team in an AFL season that has a balanced winning ratio ( blow-outs and grinds). To me that is a huge indicator for big things to come. finding ways to tick the W.

Masten wont get suspended it will be insufficient force . Maybe a fine for the act .

Jetta out sucks ! His calf isnt reacting well to the hard optus stadium ground .

Bring in nelson to play lockdown and play cole as a rebounder like he did against Carlton .

In the spirit of the title
Out- Blossom (it will be well and truly be autumn, and officially another month closer to winter)
In- Bubbles (Champagne to celebrate our victory...and my upcoming birthday)

Ahchee wss average today playing a lot of time on ball . Doesnt seem like a natural accumulator. I would lime to see arch hit some wafl form .
Ainsworth was better imo .
If it was a mid missing i would be happy to play ainsworth but not as a forward or back .

We could bring in watson for jetta . Wstson played well today and his kicking consistency has improved.

Out: Jetta (inj)
In: Nelson

B: Sheppard, Barrass, Hurn
HB: Duggan, McGovern, Cole
C: Gaff, Shuey, Masten
HF: Cripps, Darling, Waterman
F: LeCras, Kennedy, Lycett
R: Naitanui, Sheed, Yeo
I: Nelson, Redden, Rioli, Petruccelle
E: Schofield, McInnes, Watson, Hutchings (held over)

No point dropping Petrol after one game, give him a few weeks to find his feet.

Wouldn't mind seeing Watson come in for Jetta but Nelson was unlucky to be dropped and is probably first man back in.

If Masten gets rubbed out he'll be difficult to replace. Who'd have thought we'd be saying that?
