Why are you dropping a kid who has much needed pace in our side and showed some good signs?
You do know kids rarely set the world on fire first game right?
Do you want to crush his confidence completely?

he got 4 touches and squibbed it

showing good signs would be an overstatement

If Jetta is injured.

Out - Jetta, Petrol

In - Nelson, Ah Chee

I think while Pet has huge upside, he has a lot of improvement to do to become an AFL player. Glad he got a taste, now he knows how high the level is, now let him develop. 4 touch games aren’t going to be better for his confidence than putting him back in the WAFL.

Venables had 7 touches in Rd 1.

We backed him in and he kicked 3 the week after. Let’s give Pet the same chance.

Hagdorn on 882 was seriously driving home the fact that Shuey/Sheed/Yeo all nearly missed this week with injury. He said he was told that Sheed was definitely not going to play so he's pretty surprised.

At the very least we know Shuey is battling an injury. If they are sore, my hope is they can go one more week and we can chalk up a win against the Power. We'd be sitting 6-1 and top 2 still.

Then, I'd suggest giving a few rests for our trip against the Giants. It may sound unpalatable, but I'd rather not prolong the time of Shuey (and others) skipping training every week and injecting just to be able to play through the pain.

This week, I'd probably swap Watson for Jetta. Next week, I'd rest Shuey + one of Yeo/Sheed (hopefully not both) and give opportunities to Ah Chee and perhaps Partington if he plays well next week.

Simmo said in the presser that there are plenty of guys that are sore but none of the "injuries" present in the guys you mentioned will stop them from playing at their peak. He pretty much told the press that they are full shit when it comes to these stories.

Okay I haven't watched it yet. I'm just preparing for the worst scenario. My point is that if we have to rest players, I'd rather we go hard at this week and relax a bit for the much tougher fixture against the Giants.

Same team. They rest these guys during the week. Jetta played out the game. Again will be fine. If Masten was to get a week Ainsworth debuts. But he wont get a week for low impact powder puff nothings.

Port are missing Hartlett, Wingard, SPP and Rockliff. We have them on toast at home.

You'd be surprised how many AFL players play through injuries and really bad soreness. So far it doesn't seem like its affecting any of them. That said I'd Probably rest Shuey v GWS. probably bring Hutchings in for him as we know he will give in his all and actually get some decent numbers in the gut.

I checked the Port board and their is optimism but lacking conviction that Ryder will be back.

Without Ryder - I expect us to take home the chocolates and buck the recent away team wins run of results in Eagles-Port games.

Unless our MC start listening to YippeeYiYeo for game day selections.

Ken came out and said he was ready after their game last week.

Fully expect Ryder to play.

We didn’t have Nic & Scott last season.

Dixon is a concern
