Indeed. I posted exactly this on the game day thread as was on the AFL teams site just before the 1st bounce.

I get worried when we are ridiculous favourites when it was really a 50/50 game.

That is insane. But I suppose their lack of away form, plus a couple of huge outs (no ruckman, no Hurley, no Orazio) were big factors. We had to be favourites for the game, but it probably should have been more like 1.65 vs 2.40.

I would say Carlton’s current form is just as good as Essendon’s. And our form at the G is laughable. We should be 2.05 and even then I wouldn’t go near us. We are 1.46!!

Anyone having money on us at those odds needs therapy.

I feel more confident about beating Carlton than Essendon... but hardly a given.

We need to play 4 quarters & kick straight... then we win.

I don't care about "matchups", "too top heavy" and all the other cliches that get spun every week at least Stengle, Fogarty and Jones MUST come in this week and play for the remainder of the year. I would also strongly consider Butts.

He did. Pyke disregarded his comments and did the opposite. We know how this will end. BTW it shouldn't take a football director to tell the coach to start developing the team for the future. It's the coaches bloody job.

The AFL mediastarting to crack in, pressure is mounting and if Fagan is worth a pinch of sh*t, things will change at seasons end.

Right now though

Gibbs - his defensive pressure has been better and forward of centre is a good user which we lack.

Gooch - only if played centre not HF. He is another that knows how to deliver.

FOG - only if rolled at HF and through the middle.

Wilson - tough inside mid with an appetite to tackle.

Butts - racking it up every week

I could never bet against the Crows, even when I know they're a good chance to lose.

Back in 2017 we went in as favourites against Geelong at Kardinia Park and Geelong were paying something ridiculous like $2.80.

I am not normally a massive betting person, but that was way too good to refuse. We never win at Kardinia so I was pretty confident that we were going to lose and it seemed like easy money.

I ended up putting around $150 on it and won over $400

Ha i wish, we've been slow starters under Teague and couldn't put Gold Coast away.
