yours and an account that liked this idiotic post, share remarkable similarities in style and expression with a certain deceased account. which is interesting as that canine grub never usually operates less than 3 live accounts at once.

Get off the glass pipe, Sanders. You're like a sh!t Fox Mulder with all your conspiracy theories.

If Fogarty comes in for Lynch, hopefully we're willing to give him a a fair bit of time in the midfield.
I’m keen for this move

On a side note, I just checked a stat and 8 of our last number 1 draft picks haven’t played an AFL game for us this year. 2 Ofcoarse are not at the club anymore, but that’s unbelievable to think in a rebuild period, our most talented kids can’t even make the team. The main culprits Ofcoarse Jones, fog, Mcasey. Thilthorpe I can understand but I still want him in.

Dont think Fog and Fish are that far away

I'd consider "resting" Luke Brown to bring in Worrell

Kelly saved himself although ultimately is not a long term player

I noticed Kelly was coming off a wing rather than defense for at least a big chunk of last weeks game.
TBH I thought he was pretty good.

Right now hes nowhere near being out of the side.

perhaps, but the coaching bug tends to stick.

Don Pyke at GWS with their talent, would be a very tantalising prospect for the GWS board.

Considering the issues Pyke had here, and GWS being a mess, it doesn't seem that great of a fit. That 1-2 years he's good though could be worth it.

Ross Lyons and GWS though could be downright terrifying pairing. Stupidly talented squad and a coach that has never had any issues controlling egos and getting every drop out of teams.

Our struggles to develop 1st round players in recent times are real. We're doing alright out of later picks at least.

McAsey I'm optimistic on, looked good in the game against South. Ditto Fog, providing we commit to him being a midfielder. Hately is when not if, though I'd like to see more inside production from him. Thilthorpe should be in our side this week. Jones looks like he's been ruined by expectation.

It's not a crisis seeing all of them have got games but it's certainly in that good/frustrating twilight zone. Good because we're finding quality youth elsewhere, frustrating because this should be bearing more fruit.

One of the most depressing things about my time on bigfooty has been watching the reduction of the 'we don't want to end up like....'s. We didnt want to end up like Sydney, then we didnt want to end up like Geelong, then the Western Bulldogs, then Richmond. Now we're really left with the dregs, wonder which the next one to go past us will be.

TBH, I suspect most clubs just wouldnt want to end up like us.

I think we’re getting dangerously close to “We don’t want to end up like South Adelaide!”

Edit: apologies to any South supporters, but we all know you’re not God’s best work

I think Berry looked really good when playing across the HFF last week. For me there's no reason why he can't permanently move into that Lachlan Murphy pressure role (along with his stints in the midfield).

Has the height on Murphy, plus good hands and a really solid leap which will all put him in good stead to play more up front. Plus in the first 3 games and the trials he consistently seems to get shots on goal, needs to slot them more, but he's definitely proven to be a natural scorer.

I disagree, don't take the eye off the prize with Berry. Let him has some consistency and just keep upping his midfield minutes as time goes on until he's spending most of the game in the midfield.

That midfield is getting more full with Pedlar, Hatley and Crouch coming back from injury over the first half of the year. No way he starts playing that many minutes in the guts in 2021 with that many horses in the stable. 2022 for sure, but not this season.

I want him in the team, so getting him a full time role outside of his midfield stints is the best way to keep him in the side IMO. And i'd much rather see him in the team then Murphy (sorry Lachie).

We can cross that bridge if/when we come to it. Mrouch is still several weeks away, and I wouldn't be holding my breath on Hately forcing his way into the AFL team.

Some commentary on Thilthorpe and FWD structures .....

Burns said he likes the forward chemistry. Doesn’t sound like man in a hurry to shuffle out Big Bad Billy

Said Thilthorpe had a head knock a couple of weeks ago and they were initially concerned of a fracture. Said he needs a few solid weeks of SANFL, which doesn’t mean he has to kick 5 goals to get promoted.

Yeah but that's the point, we aren't even at that bridge and he's only playing a part time role in the middle. I doubt it will be easier when those guys come back.

I think we all want him in the side as long as he can be, so it would be prudent to move out a guy who's role he can probably outperform, whilst not damaging his midfield opportunities.

In essence this post is more about Murphy then it is about Berry. Gotta start finding ways to get/keep the higher upside players into the side and the guys that have reached their ceiling out.

I’d be very disappointed if we promote Hately to midfield and demote Berry to a peripheral role. Ignore the disposal count. Berry is doing much more to help the team.

Didn't sound as a rush to get Thilthorpe into the side

Guess you can only replace Frampton when you have a better replacement ......Berg must be terribly out of form, or the club is sending him a very strong message to work on a particular area of his game .....Berg is a very good footballer

And that's the point. We need Berry in the side to continue doing what he does to help the team. But with more mid's coming back into the team is he going to maintain his current role? Maybe? Probably not?

But could he maintain his spot in the side at the expense of Murphy and his role while still pitch hitting in the middle? Abso-f**ken-lutely

Of the 3 players named (Crouch, Pedlar, Hately), only Crouch is clearly ahead of Berry for midfield minutes.

As I said, we'll cross that bridge if/when we come to it. Who knows - there may be an injury around the corner which solves the problem anyway (the law of averages says that this will probably happen).

Again, Berry can still play midfield minutes if he's starting in Murphy's role. This would just be to solidify his position in the side by having a role that he can make his own while he is cementing himself as best 22.
