I said we were either tanking last week or just have really sh*t coaches. I now have my answer.
Yeah after seeing Scholl and Pedlar out, I am thinking 1970crow is correct.

Panic for a win bring back the old guard.

Although I feel we are more likely to win, or not get pumped by as much with Pedlar and Scholl in ahead of Sloane and DMack.

What I don’t understand is why there has never been any media scrutiny over a guy like Mackay playing 200 games of AFL.

It’s an insult to every other player ever to play that many games of AFL.

why can’t another club like Port do something this stupid so we can laugh endlessly at them.
North. Shaun Atley has played 200 games of mediocrity.

That's hell-funny.
Not written by Frampton or his mother, though :sneaky: .

I smell Deaneus! sarcasm here; whimsical malevolence at its finest.

i don’t want to denigrate our players, but Billy Frampton’s not overtaking Gary Ablett Snr in anything unless he OD’s two teenage girls

Scholl has been dissapointing but Mackay by comparison considering his 'experience' has been much worse with no scope for improvement and not likely for another contract (well a sensible club would delist him maybe not us). There is zero point playing him.

We just cant afford to be drip feeding games to players like Scholl and Pedlar.

Sholl miles ahead of Mackay the last 2 weeks and that he's been dropped tells every delusional numpty here exactly what the priority of our coaches is when it comes to selection. The talk about rebuilding and tanking both equally stupid based on decisions made when a choice must be made between a senior and junior player. This is a club that continues to select based on what they perceive gives them the best chance of winning the 4 points each week. It's unarguable, but the selection delusionalists will somehow still argue that nothing changing somehow means everything has changed.

Which goes against what Sloane said on the 5AA the other day. Rowe even suggested him getting up to half-forward more, and Sloane said they want to give more time to Harry and Sam in the middle.

What they're saying and what they're doing are 2 completely different things.

Sloane also said his finger is fine and has nothing to do with his form. He said it's like a "jarred" finger, no pain at all.
Yeah heard that too.

Selections say otherwise.

He's not looked great since he came back either. Lacking that little bit of zip he had in the early rounds.

Happy to leave him out, not withstanding the DMac problem.

But you can't just wash away the DMac problem. We've chosen Dmac ahead of him, they play the same role, it is a decision of one or the other. So given they had a choice between the 2, will you go on the record as saying that they should have selected Lachy or do you think they did the right thing by selecting Mackay. It's a simple yes or no, stand up for once.

I've said before that I believed, based on his selection policy, that Nicks was coaching to make the 8. The Essendon game was the first time all year (aside from maybe GWS) where it looked like we didn't even bother trying to compete. In retrospect, that was obviously not a case of tanking though. Nicks is genuinely incompetent.

Why have we gone from 2 tall forwards/medium forwards (one of those a teenager) to 4 in one week?

Not working towards any sort of structure presumably?
Given we are in for very wet conditions.... tanking.

Certainly making it difficult to get behind the "rebuild"

Will Schoenberg start in the middle at least?

Narrator: Schoenberg did not start in the middle
Sloane mentioned he will be playing more minutes forward to increase the midfield time for Schoenberg & Berry.

Hope it actually happens

Sloane went out of the centre square during the Essendon game... for the last quarter and a bit

That way we can say we lost the game and Sloane attended few CBs than usual... therefore we need to get him back in there

Forget that we were 8 goals down by that stage and hadn't fired a shot

Don't drop Pedlar and play him instead of Rowe.

This along with Sholl for Mackay... then I would have been ok with the changes.

There has been a sense of panic this week after last week's smashing that experience rules regardless of performance.

Scholl isn't playing because he adds absolutely nothing to the team when the whips are cracking.. nothing.
He totally lacks the ability to hit a body.

Mackay does have a crack in that regard..
He tries 😂

If scholl has been coached to improve this area of weakness and given chances to show it and clearly hasnt then his dropping is warranted.

I agree, they've clearly reacted to a game in which we kicked 2 goals.

Whilst I don't agree with all the selection, I do question the value of those losses to the development of players.

I'd say that team would kick even less against WCE

I liked that post, but I don't think it's incompetence. He has a philosophy that he implements religiously. His philosophy is flawed, as was Pyke's and as is the club's overarching philosophy. Nicks implements his philosophy perfectly. It's not incompetence, it's a failure of understanding, not implementation.

Nicks is a ****wit. He said that Sloane's lack of output recently, after external criticism, is on him bevause he's pushed Sloane too much out of the midfield lately. He knows that bullshit washes with the FB fans, but the real supporters watch him extend his midfield time from 80% TOG to 89% with a reduction in output. Nicks is a ****ung moroon. NFI.
