Someone put up how many goals giles and McInnes have so far this year in the wafl.giles kicks more goals

Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

30% more possession and twice as many marks to Fraser. Fraser can kick no goals and have a bigger impact on our structure than Giles.

Kicking goals isn't our problem. Moving the ball past half forward and delivering the ball to some sort of advantage i50 will have us scoring boatloads.

Giles is a great name .. appropriate patron saint, perhaps?

noun
1. Saint. 7th century ad, Greek hermit in France; patron saint of cripples, beggars, and lepers. Feast day: Sept 1

Geez, there's at least eight guys I'd drop before either of Masten or Hutchings

Not sure I agree on 8 before Hutchings, but it would be harsh to drop him.

Masten, struggling to find more than 2.

For all the Masten apologists and those that like their footy Vanilla (& we are talking the artificial stuff, not even the genuine essence), given we are being almost universally panned as soft and unable to close out a match, just who do you think contributes to this?

Sure it's a team game but one senior player certainly stands out as getting a lot of cheap, panicked possessions and is renown for going missing when the pressure goes on. Freo's Weller has gone past Masten and gee I wish we had Rosa back to replace him with.

I was tossing up between Redden and Hutchings but thought I'd give Redden one more chance. Don't think you can play Priddis, Redden and Hutchings in the same team.

Mcinnis is a workhorse. one thing that impressed me the most last season was his blocking for Jk and the other forwards. From what i heard and watched on tv so far Giles seems to be lazy. Sure Giles may be a proper ruckmen but if lycett is able to ruck 10-15% more than NN (which i think he should) then Mcinnis should come in.

I really think Duggan should also have a spell at EP. Unless simmo is willing to increase his game time and put him on ball.

I've just resigned from my job

Are you Newman from Seinfeld?

Umm, way to put me on the spot ...

LeCras, Cripps, Duggan, Redden, Wellingham, Ellis, Schofield ... ok 7.
Haha sorry mate.

Don't entirely agree with that list, but you could definitely make a reasonable case for dropping any 9 of them (including Masten and Hutchy).

Just goes to show that the form issues run throughout the entire side.

Having said that, given our problems mainly stem from the midfield, it does seem a little counter-intuitive in my mind to focus our changes up forwards and in defence.

And as I said just because his player bio says ruckman/forward does mean playing him means we're playing 3 ruckman. He was capable of playing forward permanently. Why on earth would Sinclair contest a centre bounce in the same team as Nic and Lycett? What is the difference between Sinclair playing as a forward where we lack hight and Gov going down there? And as I pointed out, we are player taller this year because McKenzie came back into the side. You're basically saying we shouldnt play a bloke who's 200cm up forward where he can draw a defender away from Kennedy but it's fine to play a 3rd tall defender at 196cm down back where he's not required and kills our ability to run the ball out. McKenzie was going to play on Eddie Betts on the weekend, its crazy. So the ''he'd make us too tall" argument is not factual. Was Worsfold playing 3 ruckman in the same time we we had Lynch, Cox, NicNat or Seaby together. The Q was technically a ruckman/forward. [and a better small ruckman that he was ever a forward]
The difference is that Sinclair is nowhere near as mobile as McGovern, he looks like a baby giraffe that's just been born when he runs. Sinclair is fairly crap as a forward, why would we play him there full time when there are specialist forwards who offer far more.

Yes that used to be the problem when Woosh was still coach. Too many of our midfielders were one dimensional, eg slow. Yes agree one of them has to be taken out of the side for balance. Which one it is remains the question of course.

Yeah good point. Main problem is there's not a lot to come in in that area. Apart from Nelson who's played about three games in the middle at WAFL level, you're looking at guys like Jetta who's just as out of form as the players in the side, and Lucas and McGinnity who are Lucas and McGinnity.

I did have Redden in my preferred outs and Duggan in my predicted outs.

If only Rosa could have been clairvoyant - think he saw the writing on the wall however when he knew Jetta Was coming to the Eagles, and thought he would end up playing in the 2s. As Jetta is so out of touch Rosa would have been getting games. However he may have wanted a change? Sometimes when there's a change of coach things don't always turn out for the better for all players.

one will Make way for Sheed when he is fit. Sheed has that inside/outside game and brings versatility and also does hit the scoreboard regularly. Hutch has been playing a similar role to sheed in 2015 so i guess he will be the one dropped.

He also has that sweet mafioso hair-do.

In- Peter Matera, Chris Judd, Drew Banfield and Dean Cox.

Out- nic nat, lecras, ellis
In- cole, mciness, adamson

McInness played a couple of decent games last year from memory, playing primarily that CHF role, and he straightened us up quite a bit i thought.

I would rather see Kennedy and Gov rotate between CHF & FF with Darling as the third tall though. Barrass & Schoey/McKenzie can be the other talls down back depending on who we're playing. I'd have Hill & Cripps as the pockets at present, and then Darling would be on a flank with a resting mid on the other. At the moment Lecca & Cripps are out of form so give Lecca a rest and bring in Nelson to run through the guts. Ellis out and bring in Cole to get a run.

Going forward i'd like to change things up now to try and fix this midfield. We're not going to be a realistic flag chance, so time to bring in some fresh mid options.

Flame away peeps

I like your idea of giving Adamson a chance. he's tough, bigger bodied and disposal isn't as bad as everyone thinks. Enjoyed watching him at East Perth games.

yes, leave out Gaff and Priddis... Gaff more so to be able to experiment now Nic is out. Nelson if Butler is out. See your flame and raise u a volcano

Gaff needs a rest as well. he hasnt been anywhere his best all season. An extended rest might be what he needs to get back to his 2015 best.

but anyone but mcginnity. would rather we play both nelson and butler. nelson can go into the middle as well.

Gee I'm glad we don't have a round 13 bye, firstly because waiting 2 weeks to atone for round 12's crap is just too long but mostly, who could stand 2 weeks debating who is a better inclusion out of Giles or McInness?

Its highly unlikely anyone we bring in at the moment will get near our best players list.
BOG likely to come from the usual Priddis, Shuey, Lycett, Kennedy or Yeo against his old club (don't see Redden turning in a blinder just yet)
