Time to clear out.

Out: Obrien, Smith, Murphy, Laird, Crouch, Walker
In: Curtin, Dowling, Ryan, Edwards, Pedlar, Strachan

FB: Borlase ~ Butts ~ Michalanney
HB: Hinge ~ Keane ~ Ryan
C: Nankervis ~ Soligo ~ Dawson
R: Strachan ~ Berry ~ Schoenberg
HF: Pedlar ~ Fogarty ~ Keays
FF: Cook ~ Burgess ~ Rachele
B: Dowling ~ Curtin ~ Edwards ~ Sholl
S: Jones

Murray, Rankine, Worrell, Thilthorpe the injured players I want in for Burgess, Borlase, Jones, Butts.

Does anyone actually care that Sholl wouldn’t outrun present day Sam Jacobs in a foot race, can’t kick more than 45m and is the worst tackler of all time, or do we just look at the stats at the end of the game and go “well, he did heaps”.

Laird and Smith are an absolute parody, and their ongoing selection is a complete handbrake to success. I’d rather 15 possessions of Billy Dowling than 30 from Laird. This guy is consistently ruining the midfield when other teams actually show up to play.

Berry is nothing more than a depth player. His skills are woeful. Try others.

O’Brien is completely ineffective. I don’t care if we play a combo of Burgess or Murray next week, or bring in Strachan, but sending this lummox out there is getting us absolutely nowhere.

Playing an injured Dawson, as a full time mid no less, really worked out swimmingly didn’t it. There were 3 options for a gimpy Dawson today. 1) late withdrawal. 2) Play him floating across half back. 3) play him up forward. We managed to pick the 4th of those 3 options. Lunacy.

I can only assume Walker carried something into the game too. At his age, playing him when he’s less than 95% fit is just dumb. Must be omitted until he’s over this back injury.

Rachele continues to disappoint when it matters. And no, playing him as an inside mid isn’t the solution. His effort and intensity are substandard and unless this changes, he’ll continue to be comfortably outside our best dozen players most weeks.

Gee who would’ve thought that the trio of Borlase, Butts and Keane would lead to stagnant ball movement out of defence? Oh, just everyone. Gotcha.

My changes:

Out:
Sholl, Laird, Smith, Walker, O’Brien, Borlase, Berry

In:
Dowling, Edwards, Ryan, Strachan, Curtin, Hamill, Pedlar

Sub:
Pedlar

(Dawson to be replaced by Taylor if he’s still a gimp)

Cue the super coach and his band of idiots to back the boys in and go:

Out:
Berry, Schoenberg

In:
McHenry, Pedlar

Sub:
McHenry

These changes threads are honestly to most painful to read through because we know these suggestions have been coming for a month and we’ve still no reason to think they’ll eventuate.

Out — Smith, Walker (inj), ROB, Murphy, Schoenberg
In — Curtin, Gollant, Strachan, Pedlar, Dowling

Laird to sub, his midfield minutes are eaten by Berry and Dowling. One more weak performance against a relatively easy outfit and Rash has a spell.

I would be OK if our experienced players were providing "nourishment" through wins but they are killing us. Smith, Laird and sadly Crouch with team killing turnovers in the first 10 minutes.

It's a big misconception some people have. They assume all older players automatically provide good leadership. All three need to go.

You are wanting to keep Keays?

ROB needs to be an out, he is a massive liability and has had way too many chances this year.

I don't care who else comes out but Dowling, Curtin and Murray all should be inclusions this week.
WE need to give Strachan a few weeks to see what he does.

Reckon it will be:

In: Hamill, McHenry
Out: Tex (inj), Crouch (inj)

Keane or Borlase into the forward line.

Max, Rachele to take Crouch’s midfield mins.

Smith to sub.

Seriously? As in Godden our midfield coach in 2020 who was demoted back to the SANFL where he belongs?

What? You want someone to take over the reins for the rest of the season that comes from the current stock who will do a good job and get us up to a valiant 10th?
