Nah, I just think Dawson will play largely forward as a way of managing his injury before the Sydney game, then back into midfield when Tex returns. Having Tex, Rankine and Murray potentially all in next week excites me.

If Dawson is injured, why are we playing him?

Get him right for Sydney - or they think we'll lose without him this week...

So no Curtin, clearly club won’t play him as a defender due to concerns regarding his defending and match ups, not even against a scrubber team like Richmond.

This is a kid who was deemed a special talent we got all excited when we manoeuvred to get him. He fell in our lap but we have no idea where to play him.

Maybe that’s why other clubs overlooked him and GWS who are a sound recruiting team were happy to trade the pick. I know which recruiting team I’d trust more.

Play the kid at half forward in the SANFL and develop him there, we don’t need another ****ing defender. Our club is literally run by ****ing morons.

There's no way we're kicking more than 7 with ours.

Its ugly reading. After 12 games we have 6 players that have double digit goals.

We are now missing our #1, #3 and #6 goal scorers this week leaving us with Fog (1.5 goals), Rachele (1.1 goals), Keays (1.1 goals).

This game is not gonna be a good one.

Depends on Nicks. If he lets the players lose and play an open fast game that keeps the f50 open for Fog and Rachele etc it could be exciting. If he does what he has been trying to do with defend games to death team defence with counter attack we will struggle to kick a winning score. Richmond aren't setting the world on fire either so could actually win it with a low score. Who knows. Im just watching this for Dowling now.

Well, I got Richmond at $6.50.

It's personal despair insurance.

So are we going to mix up our line-up?

B: Michaelanny, Butts, Hamill
HB: Nankervis, Borlase, Hinge
C: Sholl, Soligo, Dowling
HF: Schoenberg, Fogarty, Keays
F: Murphy, Keane, Dawson
R: Strachan, Rachele, Laird
I: Jones, Berry, Smith, Burgess
Sub: McHenry
Swap Michalanney and Laird and i like it

I read a post in last few days where the poster wrote "I hate this club but I will always be a supporter"
Whilst hate is a very strong word it registered with me as you live in hope that something positive going to happen.
E.G. ---- Club will have their own base away from the shell that was Footy park --- No - No , we chose Thebarton and everything come to a massive hold and now no ETA.

Obvious to everyone including us supporters that Nicks not up to being AFL coach .
So what do our club do after stating many times no hurry to re appoint him ,when out of nowhere we re appoint before season started. Where our positives of making the top 8 were blown away losing first 4 games and things got no better.
Most clubs that have a struggling or inexperienced coach get in some quality experienced coach .
We have mates of club -- Golden, VB, Hombsch (AFLW club link ) but classic of all a aeverage SANFL ruckman Baulderstone who never bothered to ever get into any football fitness levels.

But hey we get excited again we pulled of a masterpiece and got the steal of last draft acknowledge by all experts .
But what does our club do shove him back on last defence line , then give him chance then oops off you go at halftime in both games . Even though we have many regular players crapping it all year .

But we are playing 17 th team and have Crouch and Walker out so again excitement build what a great chance to see the likes of Dowling ,Curtin and Taylor come into team .
But No no again we only bring Dowling in and we recycle again having amongst them no f
marking or goal scoring forward to replace Tex and even Cook.

But of course we get Ned back again as he proved himself with a average game in SANFL and obviously carrying Nicks bag or something on trip to Melbourne ..
His continued selection has gone past being confusing it just defies logic in any aspect of selecting a aFL player.
So guess rug up to the hilt and watch us bomb it long where Fog will have multiple defenders all over him .
Least have something to vent frustration every time Ned stuffs up if gets near the ball.

Richmond played a debutant last week, made him sub and then dropped him after only one game.

Yze already showing why he was overlooked for so many head (coaching) jobs.
No wonder we interviewed him and he was final 3

He has covid apparently

SO we have an insipid performance and there's 1 unforced change? classic Nicks.

And I'm no ROB fan at all, but he laid 8 tackles. There's some effort there. He should have been dropped weeks ago though.
Why are no other senior players paying the price?
And who do they bring in? Far King Ned and the feather duster Hamill.
Toothless selection AGAIN

Where's Curtin, Taylor, Ryan? We are playing a team with 1 win on the board...maybe take a punt.

Really hope Strauchan has a cracker, but he's up against it vs Toby. I liked his senior games in previous years. He didn't set the world on fire, but he showed that ROB is nothing special despite dominating H/O numbers (what a surprise with 94% game time every single week and no other ruck). Guess none of the coaches (or media) noticed.

McHenry back in is *****laughable. They have no idea what they are doing with Hamill. Good to see Dowling finally get a run. Hopefully he makes the most of the opportunity before he is subbed out at half time.

This club.

Good post. Timing is everything & to drop ROB after a game where he embarrassed his teammates with his gut-busting effort is a bit tacky. Nicks is tone deaf on many fronts. ROB will rightly be very upset. Having said that, I do agree that Strachan needs one last chance to show that he can make the big step up. Bear in mind he's the same age as ROB, therefore he is not our future!!

Which means they both aren’t our future and we have no one behind them.

The more I think about these selections I'm trying to figure out what actual changes have actually been made that weren't forced.

4 out due to injury and 1 forced changes.
ROB out which is very fair but hardly a surprise to give Strachan a go given his form.

Murphy and Smith still in the side could have easily been replaced.

What a joke.

Nicks doesn't make unforced changes. He never will, it's not in his dna. Hopefully Richmond end his career.

So which one of Smith or Laird took Cooky out at training?

Safe to assume last week’s loss was all ROB’s fault then.

Conspiracy theory time.

Smith had a sook when told he was dropped, but the cat was out of the bag with the rumours.

So they faked Cook's injury to let Smith back in the side.

(PS this is nonsense, but fun to think about)

No they aren't, but anyone thinking Strachan offers more than ROB simply hasn't watch a game of SANFL.

Prove me wrong Strachany!!
I’m purely going on his games he’s played in the AFL where to me he looked competent.
