Year - Points for - # of teams Ross is ahead of
2012 - 1956 - 6
2013 - 2035 - 7
2014 - 2029 - 11
2015 - 1857 - 7
2016 - 1053 - 7

So you tell me if Ross is renowned for getting his teams to kick goals. Happy to do it for the Saints as well

2011 1891 5
2010 1935 8
2009 2197 12
Forget points for. Look at points for plus points against and you can see how Ross Lyon chokes the life out of games.

Ross Lyon team rankings - points combined (for and against)

2007 - 14th
2008 - 14th
2009 - 16th
2010 - 16th
2011 - 17th (17 team comp)
2012 - 18th (18 team comp)
2013 - 18th
2014 - 16th
2015 - 18th
2016 - 14th (based on points per game - both teams)

But you know... It's up to the other coach to open the game up as well. And it's probably just a coincidence that Ross Lyon coaches games are always so low scoring. He's not a defensive coach at all....

It was cold but **** me its friday night footy

Our crowds drop when the weather is shit too but not by like 50-60% or whatever it is
It was 2 degrees outside with a storm predicted. I know it can get wet over in Perth but you were bordering on insane if you went tonight.

There's also a difference between having access to 17 home state games and 12 (or really 11) and the sell out effect actually raises attendances because the majority of seats are paid for in advance so fans go and other fans go on the rare occasion they can get tickets.

When they build the new Perth stadium after a few years of big crowds with the new stadium effect I think you'll see bigger crowds for when the teams are up about and then bigger drop offs for bad form/bad weather.

That all said, big clubs need to stop shouting their membership numbers if they don't stack up. It doesn't do them any favours when so much of the overall number is a sham.

20k crowd?
WTF are people in Melbourne really that precious?

Gets a little cold (it's 6 degrees thats not very cold) and no one turns up to watch their team.
Why? Nice and cozy at home on a comfy couch with your favourite drinks and snacks with no transportation to worry about. The live experience of the game has become so beige I'm not surprised by the low crowds.

Yeah i understand the appeal of staying indoors, though i attend every North game down here rain or shine.
However i just found it unusual for the supposed biggest club in Australia to have such a low crowd regardless of ladder position.

It was actually 6 degrees. Not 2. That's like saying there was 60k when there was actually 20k

Who cares how many games they have access to. Still only 11 home games technically. Some fans are very fickle. Yes weather and performance are always going to have a reflection on attendances but tonight was worse than expected

6C is cold?

6F is cold!:D

They weren't shit against us or against Port last week, you have to question why their effort was so poor tonight.
FFS mother plugger. If freo were tanking we would be 0-14
