Absolute rubbish Freo fans.

The team is a disgrace. I hope they never play in a primetime slot again.

I thought the Carlton game earlier in the year was one of the most insipid performances I'd ever seen by a professional sporting outfit.
This was, somehow, worse.

Use all the excuses you like. Clubs take responsibility so do coaches.

Freo don't seem to ever do this. Ironic for a 'non excuse club'.

Some classic melts from you again, I have the distinct feeling you do not have an affinity with the FFC

Back in May you posted that Freo have a horrific injury count, nothing has changed.

Just saying

Why wouldn't the game have been scheduled for Docklands?

I know WA teams bitch and moan about getting games at the G but if we're "maximising revenue", why should anyone give a shit?

Just another example of AFL hypocrisy.

Game played at the G because:
-it's our home ground
-at the start of the year when the draw was created it looked to be a promising matchup, Freo expected to be top 4 contenders, Pies contending for the 8
-sponsorships
- members / seating
-mcc members
-factors affecting attendance beyond control of both club eg injuries, weather (coldest day in 18 year - hail forecast), train delays and cancellations because of a lunatic on the track/powerlines
-we don't sell our games in Tasmania, NZ, Darwin, Canberra etc etc
- and yes, interstate clubs requiring games at the G.

Geez Pies have one poor turnout and everybody puts the slipper in. Still topping the league for attendances this season (averaging over 50,000) despite our poor showing this season. Says a lot about other clubs abilities to draw a crowd. Laughed at doggies supporters comments regarding the poor turnout - they played Freo in the opening round of the season and only got 27,000 at the game!

If Melbourne, Saints, Doggies etc had been playing Freo last night and had 20,000 in attendance no-one would have blinked an eye.

As I said before - Pies v Blues next week - is anyone expecting a crowd of 20,000 for that game?

I went to the Saints v Freo game with members of my family - 1. because they are Saints supporters, 2.because of the animosity/rivalry between the clubs over the 'supercoach'. 3.Saints playing a more entertaining style of footy without him and enjoy watching the new players on their list. Otherwise I would not have gone to a Freo game.
Personally I do not enjoy watching games coached by Lyon, disgusting turgid boring low scoring defensive football. With the weather and the transport problems across the network I decided not to go. Who can blame me?

Pies v Blues - it could be snowing, both sides aren't exactly in stellar form or likely to play finals, even if I had to walk 20kms from home to the G I would go. Why? - because of the rivalry, tradition, what the game means to the players, atmosphere etc.

Glad I didn't go to the game against Freo. They were insipid and showed no fight at all. Appalling weather and football.

So it's better when people don't turn up after they've already bought tickets?

No, no just pointing out that the only people affected by a lower turnout is the catering, rip off companies. Watered down mid strength and overpriced greasy food.

All clubs have bandwagon supporters and a rusted on hard core element, although for a team that screams constantly about being the no 1 club in Australia in regards to how professional they are and how many members they have, under 20k on a Friday night is very average to say the least.

Don't want to go see Lyon's brand of shit defensive football (especially in wet weather)
Why should I watch a team who have put the cue in the rack for the season after having injuries to their best players. Boo hoo!
Pies haven't been able to gain any consistency this year either - also partly due to injuries but at least they put in.

Game was as expected, Freo scoring 5 goals, sloppy play, freezing cold, transport delays etc.
Pies won ugly - ugly weather and opponent. Watched it at home in the comfort of my nice warm loungeroom with a nice glass of red. Who can blame me. I was right, didn't miss much. My paid, full membership supports my club.

Whilst I go to nearly every Pies game and enjoy watching them play win or lose, why would I bother going to watching your shit team going through the motions.

Going to watch the VFL tomorrow instead - Pies v Richmond at Vic Park. That satisfies my footy fix for this weekend.

You go girl !!

Your team is shite why should I watch them play?
Supporting the reserves tomorrow - going with a few mates. Pies member for over 30 years.
I am entitled to go to any game I want. Your team is boring.
Fremantle mean nothing to me - even if you won a flag it would be like a 'bye' year to me.
No emotional attachment in any way to your club or the Gold Coast. Other interstate teams I enjoy.
Football is sport, it should be a contest and entertaining - your club provides neither this season, why should I freeze my nuts off to go watch it live.

The reason I go to freo games is to watch and support freo, I suspect most people do the same.

Blaming the lack of quality for not attending is worse than blaming the cold weather.

Enjoy the VFL, I hope the sun comes out for you :thumbsu:

Weird comment to make considering we had won the previous 3 games

Dont forget to pack the sunscreen

Except Collingwood & other "big 4" supporters.

Did you back your side to win against the Pies? LOL. (I don't think Kram did.)
I backed my team to win this week.
I go to games where I don't expect us to win. This is only the second home game I have missed this year.
(In fact I was a member in 1976 when we won the spoon and I travelled down from country Victoria every weekend - saw every game.)

You seem to be asserting that the poor turnout last night is related to the Pies position on the ladder?
As I stated before we still lead the league for attendances this season despite our position this year. Many supporters didn't go last night because it was Freo, not through fear of losing, but quite rightly not wanting to watch your sides shit brand of football that degrades every match into a turgid boring game.

As for sunscreen - it is a winter sport, I saw many games over the years at suburban grounds standing in the rain freezing. I just don't see the point of it to watch the Dockers go through the motions. The only regret I have is not seeing Pav in his last game at the G. A true champion going out on a poor note with a pathetic club.

As for the Pies - i will see them tomorrow. It will be interesting to watch the ressies play.
Hopefully a good opportunity for my mates kids to get their jumpers signed by a few of the senior players like last time.

Translation - I'm a lazy, fair-weather supporter.

Your response is about as imaginative as Ross Lyon's game plan and as pathetic as your club.:p

I'm out of here. Sad,sad, pathetic Fremantle...

Lol okay mate. Enjoy watching your reserves team play. Don't let the door hit you on the way out - unless you're in to the kind of thing then go right ahead
