Review Dees v the Dusty Tigers: the Good, Bad and Fugly

Nothing positive to be gained out of this except JVR's late heroics.. The game style and general play was proper garbage.
Hope that they don't think internally that performances like this will stack up against the good teams. Need to be beating these sides to give us a chance later in the year, but we're not looking close to a flag threat or top 4 quality right now.

Regardless of the result, JVR impacting the game in a way that we always hoped a key forward would. Loves the contest, backs himself and takes a good one grab mark. Hogan always gave a little pause with the two grabbers and others have fallen away to nothing

Maybe we've finally drafted a coleman calibre key forward which is enough to enjoy the result

Good: JVR, Grundy, Chandler and McVee.

Ugly: Angus Brayshaw channel 7 post match interview. Spent 2 seconds talking about footy and rest about his engagement and players nicknames. McLaughlin, Daisy Peace and Richo are dead set shockers as is Gus.

Backline a huge concern, midfield underperforming massively, forwards dont get a proper go with game style and execution. I dont see where we have an edge on any team that is good as of right now. Yes we can improve but since when does a Goody side look completely different later in the season compared to earlier? I think we've held a similar level throughout the season all the time under Goody.

I guess JVR and Petty could be a difference maker for us if Goody keeps them together, they could build a lot of chemistry throughout the year.

Was really happy with that.
Heart pumping!

Viney unreal, Ed Langdon too. Nice to know when “million dollar babies” having a tough day in the office we got someone to step up. Feel same way about our forwardline. Chandler nice while Pickett on vaccay. Nees Brown back in tho, Petty is a placeholder rn.

Sloppy game, bit of pressure, jack riewoldt kicks 4, team fell apart but regrouped and won it when most thought we’d thrown it away. Very good stuff!

I dont think May was anywhere near as bad as a few are making out. Sure, wasn't his best night but it was a hell of a lot better than last week. Got screwed by teammates twice on Reiwoldt leads when he should have expected the zone to cover for him and our mids dropping back put in pathetic efforts. Came off his man a lot to get some intercepts or at least make a contest.

Brayshaw, Bowey and McVee all had shockers. Rivers not good, Lever, Hibbo and May were fine without being good.

Reckon May's game was similar to Mcvee (relative to ability), whole bunch of good and a half dozen bits of shit. No idea what's up with Bowey tho. Bloke has lost his confidence, dunno if a spell in the twos or a move upfield is what he needs but we could use him being good again.

5 turnovers, 6 clangers, seemed lost a lot.

I'm not sure a zone is meant to cover off when your direct opponent makes a lead. He 100% should have gone with the lead when that happened IMO, and it cost us on the scoreboard.

Bit out of form is Mayzie, but you'd back him to bounce back.

Nope, he follows leads all over the ground like he did with stringer and then we get exposed behind him. Let down by his teammates he's not supposed to follow Riewoldt around the ground like it's 1989

Yeah I'm with you, I feel like our hope is that our guns hit form at the right time and we've hopefully banked enough wins to have a tilt. Seems like a bit of a reach though atm, definitely some teams looking better organised and higher skilled.

McVee played on Dusty, one of the great players of our generation, and Dusty had next to no impact on the game.
23 disposals and 4 shots on goal. Almost a game winner what the hell were you watching

"Around the ground"? hahahaha The bloke ran 10 metres forward...
