Great memory now of watching Tex kick a bag of 10 live... think the 1st time since Mods & even better for his 250 milestone game.

Much better balanced midfield tonight with Sloane mainly playing off a wing with only small stints later in the game in the middle.

Allowed more inside midfield time for Soligo, Pedlar & Rankine.

We have 3 wingmen who cover lots of territory & also kick goals.
If Nicks wants some sort of contested player on the wing, then Sloane should be the guy filling that role. Was more reasonable this round, only attending 10 CBA's, which was less than Pedlar (11) and slightly ahead of Soligo (8). Give those 10 to Rachele (4) and you'll be right going forward.

I’ve never seen a bloke more hungry to kick a bag. Some parts were quite amusing. He wanted a cheeky handball from Murphy in the square. When he passed off to Sloane and the crowd booed. Then he wanted the handball. (Why didn’t he give it!?)

Once he got 10 he was done. Spent.

It was Modra like. The crowd lifted whenever he got near it. You knew he was on from kicking the first within 30 seconds. 40k people willed him to 10.

Loved every minute of it.
"Kick it to Texxxxxx" every time the ball went forward of centre. Plus a couple of times we were bored in D50.

The most fun had at the footy since 2017 prelim.

I don’t think there was a ‘bad’ performance from any of our guys today. You wouldn’t expect it against WCE, but still good signs nonetheless

The only qualms I have is that ROB shouldn’t have allowed Williams to have the game he had, and Sloane, although effective today, is still looking slow as anything in the middle

Also - what’s with the Rankine comments? You take his game today any day of the week, reckon he has a licence to sometimes try and pull something off that’s a little tricky

Geez, I didn't realise Sloane attended more than Soligo.

Agree with you that we need to reduce further to give to younger guys.

One of those games you can't take anything from other than the joy whilst watching it.

WCE are so bad none of our defensive structures were really needed. The better result is pure attack and percentage boost.

Yeah Yeo and Kelly got some ball, but minimal hurt factor. No value in trying to shut them down as this kind of game is so unique.

We had 100 more disposals than WCE. So yeah Yeo and Kelly got some ball. No one else did.

West Coast should be beaten by that every week. They can barely field a team let alone a wafl team. Feel sorry for them. Ginbey probably one of their best players which is crazy.

Good:
hard to say
Obv Tex

I liked Soligo and hopefully that gives him confidence. I feel like he showed the same confidence which has brought him undone this year, but against poor opposition. He'll be fine.

TT was great as he should be.

Liked everything but it was against wafl standard.

I was lucky enough to be with Tex’s dad in the Peter Carey bar for the game. He had $200 on Tex to kick 8+ at 34 to 1. He was doing laps and high fiveing everyone after every goal. The place went nuts when he got his 8th and his 10th. Was awesome to share his pure joy watching his lad Tonight.

They’re clearly managing Rachele’s midfield minutes so he doesn’t burn out like last year. His fitness must not be quite there yet.

Crows now have the most goals in the comp this season, majority of clubs have played the Eagles too. The away wins will come as this group matures, but to make home a fortress again is a very pleasing first step towards consistent finals and contending for flags.
Tend to agree about our home ground. This year we have shown how good we can be at home, we are really starting to make AO our fortress. Next step is to start getting wins away from home, that will come next year I think and this is when we really push up the ladder.

Didn't think we played that well today. The team seem like they need two weeks off instead of just one. Could that have anything to do with Nicks never making a bloody unforced change? The game really told us nothing more than we rely heavily on Tex and Nicks seemed a bit too happy post match beating up on a wafl side. We have quite a long way to go but we have made some good gains this year. Nick's must start trusting the youth in the midfield and start having some belief in our squad. We won't make finals running players into the ground.

Best: Laird Walker Dawson Worrell

I think I’ve seen a fair few odd comments on this forum, but to say a team that won by 122 and dominated every stat ‘didn’t play that well’ is right up there.
