Did a job for a lady during the week who said she is related to sos. I went on to say I’m a saints supporter and I heard he’s coming back to be the list manager. She froze and said “ who told you”. Could be bullshit but what this space

If true then it's another case of Ross bringing in people that he knows and trusts.
Ross Lyon is the Head Coach and St Kilda's success lies solely on his head.
Let him choose who he wants to assist him I say.

Fair enough. Do we need someone immediately? I'd have thought we have a bit of time now to plan and get someone with renewal of player contracts not really beginning until at the earliest the start of the season.

Would make a lot of sense for Cripps to join. SOS is just more of the rehashed group we seem to be hell-bent on bringing back into the club and I don't think he's any good to begin with anyway. Cripps, Beatson, or go find another established, well credentialed guy.

They like him.

But probably another unlikely.

If someone has the time. I’d be interested to see SOS entire draft and trade history

Especially with what came after in the next 3-5 picks of the ones people claim were poor selections.

Looking at that now.

It actually looks pretty good.

The obvious issues are the Dow and O’Brien picks.
Forgetting about the Stocker. Cost them Pick 3 in 2019 for a player they've now delisted.

No way anyone can convince me SOS would be substantially better than Gallagher.

It’s an average performance at best.
Arguably Gallagher is at least as good if not better.
Surely we can move away from employing mate’s mates now.

I’d rather Geoff Walsh make those decisions.

Someone like Derek Hind at Collingwood would be an ideal replacement for Gallagher. Their drafting has been top class for a while now.

I think you're all placing too much accountability for drafting choices on the list manager. They play a part but its the recruiting staff that have the greatest influence.

Nah - depends on which person people are slagging off on any given day for the clubs shortfalls.

Today its Gallagher, tomorrow its Lethlean and Friday will be a real tough day for the Trainee Receptionist.

Please no to SOS
Made a strong statement getting quality assistants, fitness gurus in etc don’t let it go to Shyte with SOS or worse Trout type decisions
Make Cripps an offer he can’t refuse
Get best
Walsh should be overseeing this

I read a while ago where a supporter had asked Cripps whether he would ever come back to St. Kilda..his answer was yes, when the club got its s**t together…that might be now?

Seems straight forward to me.

Gallagher was clearly doing a good job but wanted to head home - so he raised the idea that he could continue to do the job from Adelaide (ala Cripps) but the club wanted him to still work from Melbourne.

Given he's clearly a good operator guess he figured he'll have no trouble getting another job so decided to head back.

Can be the only explanation given the fact that the review found that the list management strategy for the last 5 years had been sound.
Doesn’t make sense the list strategy was found to be sound when we had an over reliance on the trade period & lack top end talent!!
