He is Correct though - IF we drop the Crows game, and expected to lose in WA, who knows about the Saints at Marvel..
it is a must win game next week

Have you watched the crows today or the eagles last night? If we lose either of those we may as well give up-we wont lose them. Stk is the banana skin purely because lyon is a good coach and will be out tactically to stop us plus the saints play marvel well. But im not worried about adel.

I don't subscribe to that theory. A flag is there to win, and if we are not top 4, it says nothing about an average competition given that many here think we can pinch it.
When I watch the teams that are in form, playing well, it is brilliant to watch.
Then there are very close games all the time.

Yes, close games regularly, but the quality of footy is average imo.

Exactly, so it's a must-win game

Fair enough.
I'm not a great judge of quality, but we see our team getting beaten already 7 x this year, there is enough quality to keep us on our toes.

Yes but one we will win easily.
You think they have chucked it in for the year? No chance they come out fired up after this debacle? Or is it just that the Hawks are playing superb footy and Crows are no match? I watched them nearly lose v Bombers, and at times, looked good.

Not sure Essendon of the past month is much of a yardstick to use.

The 'quality' of footy it takes to beat us, or anyone else on the day, isn't that special.
It's as good as it needs to be. Circular discussion here. I see teams who play superb footy, but no team is dominant or excellent all season.
Swans at their best, Dogs at their best, Blues last quarter against us, Hawks except when they play us, many teams can have excellent games. The fact that it's not sustainable week after week is great.
When was the last season you thought there was adequate quality?
2022 was a borefest for most non-Cats fans

Can’t see the Crows getting near us. Freo and Saints are a worry, but I think it’s more 50/50 verse Freo and 70/30 verse Saints. Our form since Carlton has been very solid. Hawks flying against everyone, except us to the tune of 51 points. Dogs form was franked today and makes our loss look a bit better (a loss where we couldn’t have played worse).
IF (and it’s a bit IF) we play our best we’re 4-0 or at worst 3-1.

Those two losses to Port and GWS at home are coming back to bite us.

We'd be equal top if we won both.
We didn't need to make personnel changes at the time though...

And the Dees loss where Cameron and Duncan missed some absolute sitters and Fritsch and Gawn kicked goals out their arses.

That Giants game in particular we dominated the last and really should’ve got over the line.

It’s reality…… dockers likely to be a loss, saints 50/50 and eagles a win…. Dogs and hawks flying and probably won’t lose without looking at their fixtures …..
We will make finals easily.
Hawks play GWS and Blues away next two weeks.

In some respects the evenness of the footy makes for good viewing, but I'm saying the quality of footy as a whole has declined.....imo.

That is so true

And you should at least factor that in when you go off on one of your semi regular rants about Geel having that extended flag drought from 63 onwards

The utter garbage standard of this years comp ( Dimmeys should be making this years Premiership Cup ) compared to the sides that Geel had to beat in late 80s early 90s to win that elusive Premiership , they were bona fide champion teams , not the grouped bunch of pretenders who are the challengers this year

Semi regular rants?

Ok.
