When Marshall is not resting, Saints play small up forward and I think it’s crucial to bring in another small defender, particularly if there is any rain around. We already have Smith’s experience back there so should be Ryan, but will likely be Jones.

I would move Dawson to half-back to cover Hinge. This will keep the left foot/right foot balance in place. Curtin in and on a wing to keep that left side strong.

I don’t think Thilthorpe is ready, Himmelberg stays in for me.

Murphy should be out.

Taylor should starts.

So my changes are:
In - Ryan, Taylor, Curtin
Out - Hinge, Rankine, Murphy (sub)

What I think it will be:
In - Jones (sub), Thilthorpe or McHenry
Out - Hinge, Rankine

He will obviously get suspended. He bumped the guy, and the guy ended up concussed. Nothing surer.

What a bizarre contortion of events. As soon as the head contact was confirmed it became a suspension. As soon as Starcevich was subbed out with concussion it became a 3 weeks plus suspension.

Starcevich had no idea Rankine was even there for crying out loud, and Rankine went out of his way to make contact knowing full well that Starcevich hadn’t seen him.

Did Rankine intend to clash heads? No. Does that matter? No.

It’s anywhere between 3 and 5 weeks. Bookmark it.
