Can anyone confirm can the umpires stop the game even if no stretcher is called out ?.

Haven't been able to find anything udner regulations or laws of the game, other than it is up to club doctors/trainers/medicos to call for the stretcher.

Because the alternative of not saying anything has worked so well
Club faces massive fines if they speak out publicly and wouldn’t achieve anything

Absolutely no point doing it

Pretty easy really
Do the the same as other PROFESSIONAL sports
If umpires have the balls to report a reportable offence that clearly takes a player of the game the game then red card the douche bag

But then then that would take the AFL to be professional
Umpires fully professional would be a good start.

I just got home and am furious that a player can be unconscious on the field after being crunched in the head and an umpire doesn't blow the whistle 1. to stop play 2. give a free kick for obvious head-high contact, the game is ducked

Football is a great sport I ❤️ it , unfortunately it’s the way league is administered that is amateur.
Irish league GAA Gaelic football isn’t even professional yet and is run 1000 times better than this comp.

Great game of tough hard contested footy with both teams not taking a backward step.

Now for the big talking point, I'm probably the only Tiger fan who doesn't think that Stewart on Prestia was dirty and it's because I don't think he was deliberately trying to take Prestia out, he delivered a hard bump to make Prestia earn it and IMO it's no different to the type of hits that Pickett often delivers, it was unfortunate that he caught Prestia in the way that he did and he'll cop his whack for doing so.

What pleased me the most was that after that happened and the Cats got a big lead on us, we could have said it's too hard everything is going against us, but we adjusted and slowly worked our way back into the game and turned a 6 goal deficit into a lead by 3/4 time and we were unlucky not to hold on in the end and it wasn't because of poor umpiring as the free kick against Lynch when Jack took the hanger was there and it's no different to the one that Grimes received at the other end of the ground earlier in the quarter. Despite the loss I walked out of the ground proud of what I'd witnessed from our side as it's further proof to me that our future is in good hands.
Stewart's was a dirty act. Watch it again https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/...t/news-story/e6c13f973ce4aef4d904fd098f471815 then maybe one more time to let it sink in. If you're going to defend that then, wow.

It always sucks the feeling when you lose a good game like that. Bad luck tigers but at least you'll gain some decent percentage against us next week.
Massive danger game.
nicnat back, Prestia out.
I’m pretty confident eagles will be no pushover at all.

He's being denied a shot because he's not defensive enough. You don't try to break down a natural footy player. You let them play. No one will ever convince me that kicking a goal is less important that perceived pressure.
Agree re the defensive stuff, it’s probably the area that is holding him back. But he does go in hard and win his own ball. As you say don’t take the natural flair out of a kid like Noah

Every other club has no issue highlighting, especially the clubs that are usually winning the free kicks. Highlighting it will put it on the radar- yeah we’ll cop some shit but it will be on the radar and wont just be swept under the carpet. It’s worth it

The problem is we played 2 first year players agains seasoned big bodied players.
I love Clarke but this is the game he shouldn't have played in.
Gibcus needs a break.
Soldo offers nothing at all and was a strange inclusion.
Why would you have a ruckman as a sub is beyond stupidity by a selection perspective it’s virtually you needed nank to go down for him to play but when it’s a midfielder it’s a useless sub

Can’t really think of any times it’s been highlighted by other clubs apart from the odd remark similar to what Hardwick has done in the past like when he said our players need to get better alerting the umps of a free kick

I hope if Chris Scott rings Dimma asking how Dion is feeling that Dimma gives him a serve.

I really think Cumberland’s game will stack up well at the highest level. He is dynamic on the ground and in the air and a fantastic kick.
Stack at this stage of the season just has to be a better option than first year players.
Yeah look I really like Judson as a prospect but let’s see what Cumberland can do next week.
Has put a good body of work together now and deserves his crack. Stack needs another good game and he will get his chance as well.

In: Cotchin, stack, Cumberland, lambert
out: Prestia (inj), Clarke, Gibcus, ralphsmith

natanui back so might need to keep soldo in.
tempted to debut sonsie depending on his performance tomorrow.

Need to fix the rules. That should be send off for Stewart and he missed equal weeks to Prestia for concussion. Otherwise you could literally send a player on the field to injure opposition players and then fake an injury and sub them off. I know that’s not the case here but it is so unfair gun players can be taken out of the game by deliberate injury without penalty.
This would be way to Logical for the AFL we need to allow for corruption to roam free!!! and with that sort of structure it doesn’t allow the leeway that’s necessary
