Not really a coin toss. One is a 31 years old ruck, the other is a 23 years old forward ruck. Pick the kid.
I think part of the reason we won yesterday is because we have the mix of experience right .... if it was a youngster going out I would bring in Ryan ... but it's Lynch and Naismith is in form so he should get the nod ...

just like with Grimes ... if Broad misses he is the right selection but not at the expense of Brown or Miller

Our experienced players are so important for our youth brigades progress. We are a chance for a premiership run next year with Lynch if we have got a heap of young talent with 40-60 games going into finals

Wouldn’t mind that at all, Sonsie has a touch of class about him. First outing for the year at half forward and did a few very nice things, just so composed and not a hack it forward player like many.
Sonsie makes very smart and quick decisions by hand or foot. That hand pass that released Mansell into space and hit Lynch in the goalsquare in 3rd qtr was a joy to watch.

great game. our structure hold up better yesterday. a combination of better pressure and learning the new system. clearances were pretty even from eye and they didn't get the clear path breaks. we also stopped their switch game, which we didn't vs port last week. so they seem to be learning. young players showed they are up to the std and we have our seconds with a few playing well. if young and gibcus didn't go down vs Carlton and having to move balta back we could be 2-2 with wins vs the blues and swans. the season has become interesting. need to apply that pressure again next week. go tigers.....

Well that game is worth watching again and congratulations to Yze for his first win as RFC coach.
Pretty well every kid showed something today which was so pleasing bc there were so many question marks on a lot of them.
MRJ as I’ve been telling people on here he was not the problem talent wise, but more with discipline with his fitness. Even in his Oompa Loompa state he’s still the most explosive Tiger off 10m behind Bolton. Still adamant he’ll be an A grader.
Miller again was the sacrificial lamb last year and the coaches erred badly not playing him in the BL, probably out of desperation bc of our poor ruck and tall forward stocks. It was still inexcusable as poorer defenders were playing and he was always the first man dropped. As I said earlier in the year if he gets a gig down back he’d kill it and he’s had two huge weeks now.
Seth Campbell and Sonsie are looking really clean and electrifying which has been the thing lacking in our team.
Brown is still a Ferrari that needs a few more practice laps and a bit more fine tuning. His kicking is elite and pretty well can hit a target 50m away unfazed. He’s definitely an A grade talent.
Dow , Mansell with LeFau well done for bouncing back and hopefully confidence grows from this win and your games begin to build from here.
Of the old timers you had to give the three votes
for “Guess Who “ as the commentators were saying. It’s Nick Vlaustin.
He was the standout player on the ground.
Nakkers, Bolton , Taranto , Baker and Lynch terrific also.
Biggest disappointment was KMac and a poster threw up his heat map which tells you nothing about how poor he actually was defensively and skilled wise . He’s got to make way for KMac2 now as we need playmakers not play breakers. As I have mentioned so often to people here we need to move on from our heroes as they’re taking us nowhere and actually holding up progress. My biggest concern will be if Yze will have the balls to continue playing the kids once all the fossils and tractors are fully fit.
Anyway a massive win.
The only worry I have TI, is that all of Grimes, Graham, Prestia, Martin and Hopper will come straight back in when fit. Especially the first 3. Those guys plus McIntosh are not best 22 anymore. And how slow will we be with all of those guys playing. Before yesterday, I would have Pickett in that group, but he was superb yesterday. We need that from him every week.

And Miller, Young and Brown should all remain, even if it means Grimes is left out. Same goes for Ross, Sonsie, Campbell, Maurice Jnr.

MRJ fan here.
Great to see him play so well yesterday.
Tackling was immense, just went like a bullet at a train all day.
What I liked was his composure was so much better. He really looked like he belonged yesterday. Him and quite a few others.

How good is it to watch game without Big Tosser commentating…
Even der-wayne was better than BT.

Just think on that for a few seconds.

Good point, but I respectfully disagree (particularly with the bolded section). The only way to get games into Ryan is at the expense of Naismith. Naismith is purely a backup for Nank (injury, suspension or rest).

I can't see us getting close to a top-4 finish with this list. We lack a-grade talent. It will need to be drafted in the next 1-2 years.

That’s what keeps me asleep at night , they all play yesterday, we lose by 25p

I like JGTI, but it is probably a shame we didn't get him to Port when the chance was there, not sure how much currency he holds now.
I like him too, but not in our best team. He's not best 22 anymore. I honestly don't think he has been for 2-3 years. Yeah, he runs all day and works hard, but he doesn't win enough of the ball and it's not like he tags either. Injuries have slowed him down to the point where there simply isn't a spot for him that someone else couldn't do better.

A grade talent we have ...
Shai
Taranto
Lynch when his body is right
Vlastuin
Dan Rioli
and Dusty when his body is right

..probably Gibcus when he gets a decent run at it

Actually what we lack is a superstar at the peak of his powers that will win us games we have no right being in but that could be Shai by this time next year

A forum is a great place for emotionally stable adults to vent their frustrations... life has enough people butting their noses in and telling them what they can and can't say ... being the fun police jumping in and calling people children and emotionally unstable, really?

The irony is after an amazingly positive win that you are the one spoiling the party with your negativity.

Just relax and have fun
