One concern is Short's ball use and general form this year. You would've thought he would be a weapon for us with Yze wanting to hit targets in that 20m-40m range as we work up the ground. Instead he is just throwing it on the boot and using his left foot a lot more, picking out oppo players for fun.
Short has always had only one weapon. His long kick.
He's been doing it all his career.Just putting it on his boot.

We need a tall forward, we have enough small forwards, someone who can take an overhead mark, like I said earlier if we had one we would have won. We have three that are injured that fit the bill, Lynch, Balta and even Gibcus, just bad luck at the moment. I know STBO.

have a look at our outs
You do know that we've been predicted to finish bottom 4 with a full list to choose from right?

On what I saw yesterday, give me Lynch and Balta, and I would've been confident playing you guys at full strength at Norwood, not at Marvel, at Norwood.

Which is a hard pill to swallow because the midway point of the year is (I'm guessing) when we actually have some more winnable contests coming up. It's been a bit of a tough fixture to start the year for us, although I guess almost all teams are a tough opponent on their day.
Not many winnable games the rate we're going with injuries to our KP's mainly.

No negativity mate for me I'm just pointing out what I've seen.

He averages in his 3 games, 5 disposals, 1.5 tackles, 1 goal, 1.5 marks
If Cumbo was doing those numbers the knives would be out and you cant defend that.

At 195 cms I don't see any leaping marks, crashing packs, running down players with his so called speed and his pressure is non existent.

Good on him for getting his chance but hasn't shown anything that he's going to change our forward line fortunes. Remember he is 26 years old. He got his debut based on 8 disposals. Its a feel good story and I for one was happy he got on the main list but Its time he goes back to the ressies to work on his game.

Lefau has improved every week, I don't get the negativity towards him.
Has improved a tad.But prefer if he's getting a game it'll be as the 3rd banana.Playing him atm is doing more harm than good.Think we're sending him into the wolves den.

Agree, 3rd tall is his go, but the cupboard is pretty bare unless we play all giants who are slow.

Apart from GC all teams we have played finished top 8 last year, rigged fixture

You do know we already had 10 in the bank before 2017 yeah?

Not sure what that Saints guy is on about but we are the 2nd most successful side in the last 60 years, winning 8 flags and only behind the Hawks for the number of flags won.

Law of averages say that we are going to win one sooner rather than later

In the last 57 years, we average a flag every seven years and we have played in 10 grand finals in the last 57 years so that's 5.7 years on average for a grand final appearance.

Trying to use us as some sort of an example is way off base.

No way should Graham, Short, Pickett and KMac be dropped with all our injuries.

You don't develop the new players better by throwing them to the wolves Hawthorn and Kangaroos style, without much senior player support. The Geelong model works better.

You mentioned the Geelong model they do not play players who constantly turn it over, most of their players are elite kicks.

nank gives us a lot of grunt, but would having him spend more time forward and have naismith compete in the ruck be worth a shot instead of leaving nank in the middle and trying to make our other ruckmen a fwd target? i feel he might be the best forward of the lot of them with his aggression.

Baker I’d expect only change , sounds like kozi stays in , though his PT ruck work was actually ok . Not sure who goes out JG if it was my choice

Lefau can go out, and let's bring in another tall, (Naismith or Ryan), who actually can compete in the air. Optus stadium is a big ground and I don't trust Kosi as the main forward to cover enough ground.

He needs support and Lefau as much as it has been a good story has had three games and is averaging five disposals, one goal, 1.5 Marks and 1.5 tackles.

Naismith instead of kozi more appropriate.

Kozi really plays the role of lead up medium forward well ... he is not a Lynch replacement ... does not take contested pack marks ... so setting him up to fail as the tallest forward (which he has been in both his AFL appearance s)... plays well with taller options alongside him like Ryan & Naismith
