I refuse to buy into the "we caught lightning in a bottle" bullshit being bandied around here, it's a throwaway comment anyway, any gf winner partially catches lightning in a bottle to win the big dance anyway, we were a game away from getting back there last year too. Injuries are a partial excuse but they don't excuse the disgusting use of the football by players like Ellis, prestia, Castagna etc. We torched so many opps and gave them partial lay ups with our poor execution and poor discipline. Next week will get rough, our season needs to start round 5, I expect we'll be 10ish on the ladder by midway thru the year and needing a good run to get in. We can do it and get dangerous again but the players right now aren't showing any signs of hunger, desperation or passion. I think we're gonna do an Adelaide this year and fall. In a big hole.

Our backline is average without rance and grimes
Take 2 of the best back 6 from any team and it would be the same story. Once you have done that then take their 2 best ball carriers and users from their backline.

See how other teams handle that.

While your at it lets take out their best 2 forwards.
People forget Caddy nearly kicked 50 goals last year.

My point is it’s inexcusable to let a full forward have the ball30 times and have 13 shots at goal he could of broken fannings record today if he kicked straight

Don't agree with this at all. The desperation and hunger was there for the most part. The skill and execution wasn't.

People who were saying last week they’re not panicking bc it was only round two I think missed the point.
With injuries hitting two elite players , then Houli out and Grimes suspension we looked well below the pack and are in the chase group behind the peloton with the yellow jersey group starting to flex their muscles for a high category climb . It’s important to put runs on the board early without the loss of wickets as it sets up the innings . We could be left chasing a long deficit and if we happen to make finals it could resemble something like 2014.
Why we still went in with two extra small forwards and two puny HBF was baffling. Castagna and Butler have run out of lives as have Ellis and Markov. Ellis is playing scared and is a liability in all aspects of the game, whilst Markov butchers the ball under pressure.
We have Soldo on the list who most of us know he’s close to useless at AFL level, so if he’s not going to be played he should then be delisted as list spots are like gold considering Stack the last player added to the list was a shining light. Next week I want to see two genuine mids added plus Moore .
An extra ruck would be nice , but if Moore comes in Balta can do it. Some of our boys look lazy and disinterested and should be dropped as it’s starting to stink up the team.
Round three and the warning signs weren’t taken seriously after our soft and sloppy win against Carlton which has now resulted into two percentage eating losses. Wake up KDH and get this team fit and motivated and play players on form and team balance.
I will say it again although he didn’t play today adding Weller to our list was things we used to do in our lean years which were demoralising and soul destroying. If you can’t get experienced talent in then the next best step is untried kids like Stack and steer clear of list cloggers especially second generation ones.
I’m not sure if it’s just me , but we look as bad as the 2016 side bc I can’t feel or see the hunger or desire in the boys.
We lost two great club men in Lloyd and Miles last year who struggled to get games , but would have been wearing the jumper proud today in front of at least seven other blokes . I’m going out on a limb saying our culture has changed and it’s possible adding the million dollar man to it being one reason behind it all . Anyway pissed off and angry atm.

Agree with most except lynch, I reckon our culture is what brought him to our club, and the boys know it. I reckon the rance/riewoldt loss is massive from an on field leadership point of view, both of them are the type of characters to make team mates more accountable and say enough of this lazy shit

No its a joke, Butla is way out of form and needs a month in the VFL, I though Castagna
did ok today considering its his second game for the year, had a crack but lacked polish.
Lacked polish he's never had polish never will
He is now a l liability not an asset anymore
Just hope dimma realises it

There wasn't enough class back there. Hence some other shit bloke kicking 5 down there who isn't even a forward.

This just shows how ****en good Rance is.
We can not win a flag without him back there whether we like it or not. It just hasn't sunk in yet.

just play him I say what have we got to lose?
I'm all for playing kids this year but RCD simply hasn't got the tank yet. Late season debut I reckon. CCJ needs to play, sick of hiding him. Ditto Bolton.
Baker comes in, hell even Aarts would add more spark than either Butler or George. It's not even close to tanking either. Those IN's would be a big improvement on the current line-up.

Did say last week it was pretty tough to judge Collingwood so poor were we.
But thank you very much for the $3.20. How the **** were West Coast $3.20??

Positive is that there were signs of the tigers of old (2017/18 tiges) Pressure tacking, just skill today let us down.
Lots of outs, our 2 best defenders and 2 best forwards of last year any team would struggle...
I don't buy we were a flash in the pan premiership team, that title goes to the bulldogs not us...
