And his head...

Dude he is Going for 1 week...
. where is he going after that?

He elbowed a bloke in the head 100m off the ball. They will be calling for his blood.

I know we're struggling so no point having a melt but what I can't forgive is Dimma's stubbornness and refusal to tag players. I mean, Graham and Ellis are absolute workhorses with serious limitations with the ball yet we don't use them to tag opponents when they get 40+ touches?

Last week we see WCE tag Coniglio and another player (can't remember who) and they totally shut down GWS.... But we are above that? We'd rather let them rack em up and get slaughtered?

Staggering.

WCE are a vastly superior team to Richmond at the moment

The key with the change to6 6 6 is having a decent defence.

Melbourne and Richmond getting slaughtered when the ball comes back.

Game has changed we haven’t

The positives
Stack what a find
Balta was good today, chased like a madman and impacted the contest repeatedly
Garth was short of a gallop so the run will do him good
Edwards was very good
Lamborghini busted a nut
Macca tried hard
Lynch looked good Cotch tried hard but didn’t have much impact

The negatives
Markov
Castagna
Butler
Ellis
Graham were all so bad they should be dropped
Dusty looks disinterested and has fumbled more in the first 3 weeks than I’ve seen him fumble over the past 6 years. Stunning
Prestia disposal was horrendous

We look underdone

Agree with everything except dusty looking disinterested. Went in hard a couple of times to get a his mojo back. I just reckon he needs to stop getting sucked into the tag head games. Watching him it seemed when de beor was into him he got him to lose focus on his stoppage placement. In 2017 he was stoic as ****, needs to go back to that

Richmond are an excellent team and will be a contender again this year. As I mentioned in another thread, it seems like Hardwick has smashed them on the track over the summer with the goal of being a tougher team in September- and they will be.

Tonight wasn't a fair indication of where either team are at. That was the kind of performance our supporters had been crying out for for a couple of seasons ago. We were honestly excellent, but we are nowhere near consistent enough with that kind of performance. Richmond caught us on a bad night where they were underdone and we were on top of our game. It was our last match in Sydney for about a month so there was a real push to have a big performance tonight, and our guys delivered in spades.

Super happy for us tonight, that was a brilliant performance, but you guys are nowhere near as bad as a few people in here and in the media are making out. I expect them the Tigers to still make a Grand Final :thumbsu:

So what do you expect Dimma to do?
Because from where I'm sitting he sent Dusty fwd/back/sideways.
Unless of course you want to go back to the ol days of behind the play stuff.
Putting him behind the ball as a last resort wouldn't be the worst idea, at least he can direct play so we can get our fast break game back on, or break the opposition zone with his kicking

Cotchhin was fantastic in the 2017 finals series and last season but he seems a bit deflated this year, not the same intent. Tries hard but he is essentially a lone hand in the middle.

I think the other serious issue is speed off the mark from a centre clearance. With the extra space from the 666 rule the better teams actually have some speedy runners from the middle. Dusty, slow, Lambert, slow, Prestia, slow, Graham slow and the list goes on, bursting speed is important to take advantage of less numbers inside 50, we don't have that.

Finally I don't know if we have been visited by the skills goblin but wow, our basic skills are less than VFL standard at times. If a player getting paid thousand of dollars a year can't hit a player on the chest from 20 metres then they should not be playing the game. Too many times in all games so far this season our skills have killed any momentum we may have had, so frustrating to watch.

I get we have injuries but our midfield is pretty close to full strength and has been firing blanks week in week out. Think Ross and Bolton have to at least be given opportunities next week.
